very disappointing
the writer is great at making us live or hate characters. But this story line is ridiculous. It doesn't ring true at all. It's irritating.

Josie is a wuss
This is my least favorite series from CJ Archer. I listen when I am in between other releases. I had to listen to book 1 twice because it kept losing my attention. Josie is always running & afraid. She's smart but spineless which takes away from my enjoyment so far. She runs to the Captain for help but doesn't tell him the whole story. (Spoiler: Such as LD trying to kidnap & have her son rape Josie to death.) I guess I was hoping for more Dr.Claire Fraser & less damsel in distress. I love Ms. Hussey's work which makes up for a lot of the story holes. Hopefully Josie will begin to fight back somehow.

Dull ending
I have a hard time with this series - too much talking and too little action. And the chemistry between the main characters is not strong enough to be compelling. It took me three days to finish the last half hour; it just didn’t hold my interest.

Very Entertaining!
I love this series! The pot thickens as the people from the castle try to discover what is next now the king is dead. Dane and Josie continue to keep their feelings under wraps as they search to find his memories and those of their friends. Waiting for the next book will be agonizing.
