WOW! What an amazing book.

I have been in the consulting business for over ten years and this is the most practical and comprehensive book I have ever read on the value of talent. I am currently doing my doctoral studies on change and leadership and have an MBA in organizational leadership. I mention this only because I have read and learned different approaches on the subject and this one book contains the most important lessons I have learned into one book. It has taken me ten years studying this subject when it would have been accomplished reading this one book alone. Thank you to the authors for writing this. The field of talent acquisition is better with your phenomenal contribution.

A absolute must read for every business leader

This is such a great book detailing practical steps that every business leader can employ to get the right people on the team.

As Jim Collins puts it "money is a commodity, talent is not"

The special forces community has mastered the art of "First who, then what" in the words of Jim Collins.

The business world is full of groups of individuals who can't work as a team, they are not a team, but just a loose collection of people who really don't like each other. This doesn't work out so well, just look at what has happened in the last 12 months.

Avoid the butts in seats mentality when it comes to hiring.

Avoid the "order taker" mentality where you just check the box and hire an individual.

Quality is better then quality and team play wins.

When it comes to talent acquisition have three options:

Good & Cheap, won't be fast
Fast & Good won't be cheap
Cheap & Fast won't be good

Do yourself and your team a favor and read this book and implement the strategies and tactics contained within.

Excellent read and mindset shift foe those willing to challenge current HR Hiring Practices

This book challenges the status quo and calls out some major hiring practice deficiencies in Corporate America that are all too common. The authors did a great job great mixing data, special warfare lessons learned, and application to business scenarios to validate their contentions. If you are a CHRO, COO, CEO, CFO, etc... this is a MUST read!

So timely - So Important - All Leaders Should Read This

Having lived the military life the authors speak about, then transitioned to a well-known multi-national bank - this is the most accurate depiction of the current state of talent selection and its vital importance to business to date.

It is also the most poignant set of solutions “out there” to actually address the issue of talent in companies, today. This book concisely illuminates the systemic problem AND gives easily adaptable solutions that can be realistically acted on to do something about it!

I promise you will think very differently when you read this book.

"Remember, it is mindset that you are creating"

All in all good book. Best part of this book are examples on how you can make a giant mistake by listening the wrong people and having half baked information. This can lead to losing employee or employees in tree to four large companies.
