Publisher's Summary

A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.

I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York.

The food, champagne, and service were impeccable.

The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better.

He was suave and intelligent.

We talked and laughed, and something clicked.

Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night.

With no plans, we made our own.

We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget.

That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him - until today.

I started a new job and met the CEO. You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk.

But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. My life has changed, I have responsibilities.

I just got an email.

He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m.

Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace.

What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?

very poor story lines and character development

lazy writing,: did not develop characters bonding during "stop over" they just "danced and laughed", neither protagonists had any friends - female doesn't speak with anyone back home (except her mum) for 4 months! when experiencing "worst time of her life" female protagonist doesnt ring her mum for support. Major flaws in story: if he was worth $5Billion then he would not be flying commercial on more than one occasion. 3/4 into book there was mention of a corporate jet but never why he didn't take it. If she always wanted to work for that company she would have researched the CEO etc (esp. considering she is a journalist!) and know what they look like. Unrealistic workplace scenarios: on the top floor only two CEO/Execs work there with a receptionist who is also their PA. When all the crap was going on - where is the Manager/HR who would have got involved. What happened to Ava character - just disappears. what happened about 'fake news" ? Topics in conversations werent resolved - babies? I feel like it's a first draft and the editor should have told author to go back and include more characters and realistic story lines . and why does the narrator whisper so much?? such a bad effort in writing with predictable endings.

Repetitive

The writing was repetitive. The same conversations happened and then copy and pasted sections. Not great character development and sudden love is just not good enough. Have returned.

Hot, Heavy and

this book has really drawn me to TL Swan as a story teller.
this book has everything. her talent to show the romance in this book comes from a genuine place, the care she started to show to him and when we started to soften really drew you into the book.
cj bloom did an amazing job narrating both characters. I really feel there wasn't much need for Sebastian York to narrate in this book.

Okay audible

The female narrator was okay, her doing the different voices other than the main female character, didn’t suit her.

The female narrator seemed too stiff and a bit too condescending for this audible. I listened to this audible at 1.2 as 1.0 was way too slow.

The male narrator didn’t narrate enough in this book.

Duet narration would’ve worked better for this audible.

enjoyable read.

The Stopover was enjoyable enough, but I read this series out of order. Sadly i was left a bit disappointed. The Takeover being my first and i just loved it- hilariously funny I wanted more. Didn't quiet make it.

Had me obsessed

The story is great! The camping scene had me in stitches.. so funny. I didn’t like how desperate the lead female was toward the end and how easily she forgave him but was still a great story.

Hot but frustrating

First full audiobook I have listened to. I love that the dual POV is read by the assigned gender, made it more enjoyable.

The sex and tension was 10/10 hot but there was a lot of reoccurring problems and I am not a fan of the miscommunication trope.

I’m saying this, I did enjoy it overall and would consider reading the rest of the series

Definitely a hot story but the last third...

Overall opinion: This story started out hot and, even though it is angst heavy, was going very well for the first 60%. The heavy drama started way too early and, in Audible, lasted 3 hours. I skipped over an hour because it was so repetitive. If TL shortened the story by 2 - 3 hours, it would have been a 5-star read for me. If you like the heavy will they/won't they angst heavy, miscommunication drama that lasts for 30+% of the story, you will love this.

Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.

Very little of Sebastian York!

Ok, let’s get this straight. I buy my books based on the narrator and Sebastian York is my favorite. There is VERY little of his narration in this book. Most of it comes near the end of the book. If you look at the picture of the book you will notice HIS name is listed first. I would think that would indicate he narrates at least 1/2 of the book. No. His part is about 15%. The book had potential but I found myself playing it at 1.5x, slowing it down ONLY to hear S.Y. Sexy voice. (The female narrator did ok, just that she read to much of the book). I wish there was something posted in the description that tell the potential buyer just what % of the book is read by each narrator. If there was I certainly wouldn’t have bought THIS one.

If it weren't for the part at 3 hours left

It had some promise. With some romance and some push and pull, some misunderstandings and some sex. But the screechy hysterical voice and actions of the female character at about 3 hours from the end of the story. I just can't. It sank like a stone for me there. I can't help that I've gotten allergic to when the female heroines in romantic stories just has to get a bit hysterical, too dumb, overreact at conflict or some drama. Especially when it often feels like it is a woman character that is well educated, smart and often level headed in almost all of the story. So she should be able to get upset, sad, angry, and reach a road bump in a story without it suddenly turning to her getting illogical, hysterical. But no, she just has to get a bit screechy and acting like a desperate ditsy character all of a sudden? Calling and texting desperately, why? And it is too bad she had to be that annoying, just had to go there. Because it would have been really good for me if it weren't for that turn at approx 3 hours left.

The Stopover

Normally I don’t review a DNF book but I listened to 9hrs and 28 mins of the 12 hr and 58 min book so I am going to review and rate it.

I loved the beginning I was hoping it was going to be interesting and intriguing and it was until it turned in to just like every other billionaire book.

Actually it got worse, it was getting close to childish drama and I just can’t with that. I was rolling my eyes so much but the end if I had made myself listen I would have ended up hating it all.

I did love the narration, if it had been anyone else but those two I probably would have stopped after the first eye roll.

THE 4-STAR PERFORMANCE WAS ALL SEBASTIAN YORK!!

Why did Sebastian get top billing when I had to listen to so much/too much C. J. Bloom. The story was childish to me, no real connection to/for the characters. I got through it the fourth night. I get it was primarily a woman's point of view, but geezo pete; the female would start off a section o.k., but, then she would loose it and sounded like her character. Not only was the character immature, but the voice was too. There are some 25 year old females around who don't act 15 and going out on a first date. And the complaints about Seb York's voice sounding to old for 20 something men, in my biased view, I always preferred mature sounding men, even when I was 17. I might recommend this listen to someone whose tastes I know!!!

Don't expect to hear a lot of Sebastian York

The story was riveting and addictive. Don't expect to hear a lot of Sebastian York as the book is mostly narrated by the female narrator. She was great but I expected to hear much more of York.

That voice

The Narrator is terrible. I can't even listen to her. Her male voice sounds like she needs s gallon of water. All of her reads with emmotion are opposite of what it should sound like it. When reading the thoughts of the character she sounds sexy and bedroom like. When reading the characters dialog she throws her voice like a teenager, then moves into a gruff dry vocal like she has been at the bar all night and smoked 4 packs of cigarettes. I called and sent the audio back. She ruined the booked.....sorry lady

A Movie Worthy Read!

This book has it all and, it’s a can’t put down until the end kind of book. It has ruined me for all other books. Loved the characters. This storyline; never misses a beat, The narrative performances by Sebastian and C.J are phenomenal!

They meet on a plane, they have an undeniable attraction, they spend one night together, part ways and than, fate brings them back together and life’s never the same for these two main characters.

This book is RED HOT, Jaw dropping, every man woman sex and, romance fantasy. So, if you can’t handle this kind of book, you might want to look within another great romance category such as; Religious and Inspirational.

I loved this book. It’s my new number one favorite and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. A big 10 Stars to T. L. Swan! What a writer!

I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THIS BOOK

The romance between Emily and Jameson started during their unplanned stopover in Boston after their flight to New York from London was canceled due to a snowstorm in New York. It was supposed to be a one night stand and they did not expect to see each other again. It would have ended there except a year later, Emily was hired by Miles Media, a large publishing company owned by the Miles family and headed by no other than Jameson himself as its CEO. The on again-off again relationships, if you can call it that, and the story itself made me laugh, hate/love Jameson (for switching his personality from Jim the lover boy to Jameson the obnoxious CEO and back), yell at Emily and blush at some very descriptive steamy scenes.

So why do I have mixed feelings about this book? Because there are some things that just didn't make sense to me. Why did Lara Aspin (the female villain) sell her laptop computer without erasing its content, not to mention for a measly $100? It seemed to me that T L Swan had to shorten the novel and gave us a quick solution to Jameson's problem. The author never told us who has been giving/selling “breaking news” to Miles Media’s fiercest competitor. Some might say that it is implied, but that does not satisfy me. Again, Emily was described as an intelligent and strong woman, yet she turned into putty and horny when in the presence of Jameson. Really?

It seems to me that CJ Bloom sometimes forgets to change her female voice to a male voice when reading Jameson’s line. That made me wonder who is speaking. Sebastian York had the top billing, but he had very few lines. I was a little disappointed. Is the top billing a lure to us who like to hear Sebastian York narrate?

I got this book as a Kindle Unlimited Read and Listen. All in all, it was an enjoyable book and for the price, it is worth it.

Run away

This book is literal shit. I read it because a friend insisted it was good. Soooo wrong. The level of gaslighting, controlling from the male main character and unhealthy relationship, layered with bad representation of what sex between adults really is like makes it just trash.

One of the best books this year!!

I have never read this author before so I read the bio and really liked the sound of it so i have waited and waited till it was released hoping that it would not be a let down,
all I can say is that I LOVED it.

This book had me laughing, crying and gave me all the feels, ivan usually tell in the first 5 minutes of a book if it will be enjoyable to me and this had me grasped from beginning to end.
this book is beautifully written and also fantastically narrated and I know I will listen to this again and again.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 would give it 10 stars if I could.

Nothing new

The Same familiar storyline , rich CEO meets blue collar girl from a small town. when you've read one of these stories you've read them all. l didn't find it capturing as most books like this i have read before start and end the same way. Recommend for a first time listener to books of this nature.

A bit basic to be honest…

The sex scenes are pretty well written but that seems to be where the effort ended. Any kind of actual plot is thin on the ground, the characters are flat, dialogue seems a bit pointless most of the time. In all honestly it felt like the non-sexual bits were just fodder to get to the next saucy bit. An easy to listen to gratuitous bit of raunchy chick-lit - which will definitely be some people’s cup of tea, just wasn’t mine, sorry.

Got bored, gave up!

I had high expectations of this book based on reviews on here as a great holiday read. Sadly this book is incredibly boring, even the supposedly spicy scenes were meh..... . The storyline was uninteresting, and the characters were unlikeable, and the narrators were irritating. to be honest there wasn't much about it I could recommend.
