Publisher's Summary

In the happy, clean community of Austin Valley, everything appears to be perfect. Seventeen-year-old Em Fuller, however, fears something is askew. Em is one of the new generation of dream travelers. For some reason, the gods have not seen fit to gift all of them with special abilities.

Em is a Defect-one of the unfortunate dream travelers not gifted with a psychic power. Desperate to do whatever it takes to earn her gift, she endures painful daily injections along with commands from her overbearing, loveless father. One of the few bright spots in her life is the return of a friend she had thought dead - but with his return comes the knowledge of a shocking, unforgivable truth. The society Em thought was protecting her has actually been betraying her, but she has no idea how to break away from its authority without hurting everyone she loves.

If you loved the Lucidites series, you'll like it

If you could sum up The Reverians Series Boxed Set in three words, what would they be?

emotional, romantic, action packed

What did you like best about this story?

While some of the plot points have a little bit of a cheesy edge to them, the depth of emotion and commitment of the lead characters is palpable and it makes for a great listen! Definitely a compelling story.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Klett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Elizabeth Klett makes it easy to dive into the story and effortlessly differentiate between all the characters. I love her work.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Interestingly enough, the moments that were supposed to make me cry made me angry, and although I was definitely in tears at least twice throughout the series.

Any additional comments?

The world of the dream traveler is so intensely compelling, I love the premise and the characters are well rounded and fun to follow.

Midway? I really wanted to love this series. Good story concept. I listened all the way through to see how it ended, which is why I rounded up to a 4. Too much "perfect love" for my tastes.

What about Elizabeth Klett’s performance did you like?

Very consistent, pleasant voice.

enjoyed

I enjoyed this series; even though each series can be read and/or listen to without reading and/or listening to the others I do feel that it is better to.

Entertaining and easy listen.

Was a young adult series that kept the romance to a minimum and nothing graphic gore or description wise. Was a fun listen with a great narrator. Would recommend. Great way to spend a credit and be entertained for a few days.

Wonderful boxed set

I had alread read the Reverians series on kindle in 2017, but really enjoyed the story so was ready to re-visit Austin Valley via audible. I really enjoyed the narrator - I thought she presented the story well. I listened at 1.5 speed.

I love the Dream Traveller race having first met the race in the read the Lucidites series, I love how Ren pops in from that series. In the beginning we learn about the Reverians, who live in an isolated area where the Middlings (humans) cater to their every want and need. Dream Travellers are supposed to have magical powers, but a group of Reverians, including Em, do not seem to have received their powers and are labelled Defects. It's safe to say all is not what is seems, and when Em finds out the truth there is hell to pay! Lots of characters to love such as Em, Zack and Rougue and Em's sister Nona and grandma Tutu. And many to hate such as Em's Dad, President Vider and Nona. The relationships between the characters is a lot of fun. There are plenty of twists, turns and surprises along the way and the series is full of emotion.

Mystery, Intrigue, Romance and twists!

The levels of Intrigue will astound you! More levels than a royal court of old. The twists will keep you spinning. It grabs you with the first book and keeps you listening until the end. Great characters and world building.

Truly enjoyed

This is my second Noffke series. Very much enjoyed. I laughed and cried. As a 30-something, there were some young elements but it was truly well-written.
I didn’t like the narrator, but at 1.5-1.75 speed she was great.

Never get enough of this story!

A unique story as only Sarah Noffke can tell. Ups and downs keep you enthralled in the fictional Austin Valley which is based from the really Rogue Valley where I amazingly live. Her characters are vivid and real. How she comes up with new kinds of evil and new kinds of heroes keeps me coming back, book after book. I love box sets because you get the whole story without breaks in time. I listened to this in 3 days. It's 24hrs of fabulous! You will not regret getting this box set. And then your going to want the next one.

Quite a ride

I read this series when it first came out. The audiobook version did not disappoint. The theme of fighting against injustices fits in with today’s social issues. The storyline is entertaining and the characters are likable and believable. The narrator did a great job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
