I had to keep listening! Such a great tale, although I am used to a happy ending and would have liked to hear more about after she retired but Suzie's story was sad, happy and completely relatable - although I haven't been in her situation her feelings were described perfectly and have certainly felt many that she talked about.

I wept and laughed and learned. I want to read it again so I don’t forget the wisdoms of Susie and her dad.
I am changed for reading this book. Make it into a MOVIE, with Sam as the dad....(I’m not joking, I hung out with my friends at ‘the exchange’ so first hand visuals)
You should be really proud of this. It is a masterpiece!

I loved that this book didn’t fall into the usual traps of romanticising mental illness. It was raw, and rough, and realistic. Those struggling did not always wrap things up neatly. The experience of others was considered, reflected upon - but not judged. You aren’t told what to feel. As someone who has some experience in the “chronic” end of mental illness, I found this to be a beautiful, more earnest depiction.

As I have a mental illness, I was really curious to hear this book, to hear another perspective. I found it a very good book, written with sensitivity and the author's 'standoffish' tone of voice matched one of the book's themes of not wanting to get hurt. She portrayed the sometimes 'kookiness' of mental illness well and with gentleness. I highly recommend this book.

I totally loved every word of this book and the writing style and inner thoughts of Susie shoes and Miss K were just a breath of fresh air.
The imagination and turn of phrase was spectacular and made me smile even at times in the sad bits. This is the best book ever !

I loved this book what a great insight into a young girls mind who craves freedom and see's life differently. we all see life differently while trying to work it out. None of us get it it's just perception and views based on experience. Nice to read/listen to a book that features mental health in a way that's not doom and glume just life as it happens. only point I would say is it's a pitty we didn't hear about what happened with her relationships with her, dad, Jeremy and Loui but on reflection maybe they just disappeared after the last big bad/good thing that happened to her. Great story.
