كولينز في كتابه هذا يثير الجدل حول دليل الوجود الإلهي من خلال علم الأحياء ، الفيزياء الفلكية ، وعلم النفس وغيرها من التخصصات ويشير في كتابة إلى العديد من المفكرين كالقديس أوغسطين ، ستيفن هوكينغ ، تشارلز داروين ، دوبزنسكي ثيودوسيوس وغيرهم .
