About this listen

Lisbeth Salander is a wanted woman. Two Millennium journalists about to expose the truth about sex trafficking in Sweden are murdered, and Salander's prints are on the weapon. Her history of unpredictable and vengeful behaviour makes her an official danger to society - but no-one can find her.

Mikael Blomkvist, Millennium magazine's legendary star reporter, does not believe the police. Using all his magazine staff and resources to prove Salander's innocence, Blomkvist also uncovers her terrible past, spent in criminally corrupt institutions. Yet Salander is more avenging angel than helpless victim. She may be an expert at staying out of sight - but she has ways of tracking down her most elusive enemies.

This is so good that I listened to it twice. It was actually better the second time because I was more familiar with the characters.

Riveting!

I am not even slightly sick of the story. A rare feat for a series.

Absolutely enthralling!

Better than the first I felt. More thrilling this time. Although some little idiosyncrasies of Salander, were a little bit off. But overall I enjoyed it a lot. Just wished this movie had done it justice. That’s why we have books. Enjoy :)

Excellent

If you could sum up The Girl Who Played with Fire in three words, what would they be?

Gripping, inventive and intriguing

What other book might you compare The Girl Who Played with Fire to, and why?

The other 2 books in the series beginning with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Which character – as performed by Saul Reichlin – was your favourite?

Michail Blomquvist

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When we found out more about Liesbet Salander's history and understood her more. Such an inventive character! I loved her and wanted to take her into my life but she wouldn't like that anyway. But Michail, he is a man I could get to know.

Any additional comments?

Took a while to warm up, the narrator at first sounded a bit wooden, but once your ear 'attuned', you could hear so many different characters and nuances in his performance, I really like his Norwegian accents on words.

Stieg Larsson the Master of Scandi Crime!
