Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best seller Alessandra Torre....

I have three months to write the last book of my life. Three months to confess the details of that day, and how it changed everything for me.

My name is Helena Ross. I've written 15 romance novels, 10 of which have become international best sellers. But this one isn't a romance, no happily ever after in place. This novel holds only the truth, which I have run away from for four years. The truth, which I have hidden from the police, from my loved ones, from the world.

This final book?

It's my confession.

Great read

I don't give 5 stars very often, but I really did love this book. It wasn't fast paced, but really had a great story. I will definately be reading more from this author.

Ugly cry good

This audio ripped my heart out and left it on the floor. I’ve never listened to an audio that had me so emotional. This Audio kept me engaged from beginning to end. The way the author navigated the story while hinting, twisted, and eventually pulling out a trump card I would have never seen coming was beautiful, poetic, and heartbreaking. The narrator did such a fabulous job of giving all the characters so much personality from fragile and broken, to strong and supportive. Bravo. A five star Audio all the way around.

Difficult (to put into) words

This is the first time i have written a review for a book I've read; I usually don't feel compelled to go any further than to give stars. However, The Ghostwriter would not allow me to stop there. I could talk about the writing. I could talk about how Torre worote a book with two authors as main characters and presented their thoughts in distinct writing style. I coul talk about the irony of Torre, a writer known for erotica, making both of the characters romance/erotica authors, but not including a single erotic scene. I can only imagine that Torre includes in this book about authors a glimpse of some of her own views on aspects of that industry.

I prefer to talk about the content. This story is enthralling. I am only, at this point, familiar with Deanna Madden. Here we find another female who for reason of her psyche has chosen to isolate herself from society. The "female lead" is pathetically hilarious with witty and snarky cymicism if such a thing is possible. And Torre leaves the reader in a place where no matter how you judge her character you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. The relationship between the main characters also takes on an oddly ambiguous nature that woukd keep you guessing if the rest of the story wasn't so darned attention grabbing.

Gripping

At the expense of my housework and some basic things like cooking real meals, I was completely captivated by this story. I suspect we all share some identifications with Helena, and I found it strangely healing reading this tragic story.

Kept me guessing what her secret was until the end. Great plot with lots of twists and turns. Reminded me of Gone Girl.

Not what I'm used to from Alessandra!

I loved this story for many reasons, the writing was exceptional. The heroine was cranky, but with good reason and I loved her just the same. The twist at the end surprised me. Ghost Writer has all the components of an entertaining, worth your money novel. Bravo Alessandra, more like this, please!

Wow! I’m speechless

Ok I’m a guy and I typically like my techno thrillers and guy books. I saw the awesome reviews for this book and said I’d give it a shot. I rarely write reviews but this book is the kind you’ll be thinking about all year long. It’s so raw and real. It’s a simple story, but profound. I found myself unable to stop until it was all done. I’m glad I came across this book and I’m considering making this one of my top ten favorite books of the year. Just get it.

Excellent writing!!

As always, the story turns and twists and just when you think you know where it's going, you don't. excellent writing.
