About this listen
The #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling series is hotter than ever, and this thrilling conclusion to the Lost Continent Prophecy arc!
With talons united...
Luna has always wanted to change the world -- to fix it, to free it -- even if she's never actually known how. Now that all of dragon- and humankind are in mortal danger, Luna is flying back home to Pantala with a team of dragons on a rescue mission, determined to be brave and useful.
But saving a continent isn't as easy as a prophecy makes it sound, and "facing a great evil" definitely requires more than the fiery silk that Luna is uniquely able to create.
As she fights her way to the abyss that hides the dark roots poisoning Pantala, Luna must uncover a long-buried secret and unite her friends, her enemies, and her own powers. If she doesn't, she won't get to change the world. She'll have to say goodbye to it -- forever.
©2022 Tui T. Sutherland (P)2022 Scholastic IncShannon mcmannace’s performance is fantastic, and in my opinion captures the humour and darkness of the series. My only complaint is that sometimes her voices or tone are too strong and alter my interpretation of the series. However, if you like slightly more ‘acting’ style audiobook, it’s good.
Wings of fire is a great series and is my entire life, I listen too it a lot and think about it even more. The end to the series wasn’t the best, and feels as if the writing was rushed. Luna is a likeable and relatable character. The pacing of the book isn’t very good, often flashbacks and scenes removed from the main storyline that throw if it off and make it feel choppy and confusing. It’s good to see more recognisable cast and some new too. Some characters feel thrown in- such as the mudwing, Bog. Mudwings are neglected in the series and it feels like Tui has remembered they exist and chucked one in. He’s likeable, but nothing in depth happens with him. There’s also a character who uses they/them pronouns, which feels like a wonderful shout-out and inclusivity - though a little bit chucked in, like Bog.
High quality end to the series
