I had to skip parts of description. It was tiresome that my friends, the characters, had to be excavated from underneath a flowery analogy for every single thought, sight or deed. Enough analogies to sink a ship. I didn’t need to hear so much of the mundane interrupting the tales of threat, murder and gold.
For all that, I do love the characters and the narrator has a fine clean voice.

A little bit slower than the other books in the series, but once you get past the first half all the action starts, and the story is still fascinating, beautiful and thrilling.
