About this listen

In which Lord John, anticipating a voyage home to England after his brief stint as military Governor of Jamaica, instead finds himself on his way to Cuba, where the British navy is preparing to lay siege to Havana - and where the Dowager Duchess of Pardloe (aka John’s mother) is a guest (and potential hostage) of Governor Juan de Prado.

One of the two final novellas of Seven Stones to Stand or Fall. This collection of Outlander novellas are all dealing with the interesting side-stories and lacunae of the Outlander universe.

I love that the Lord John books I can really pick up ‘anywhere’. These smaller tomes I can complete in a driving session and, though the characters in this, and the story carries on after ‘Zombies’, they are ‘complete’. I can enjoy as a complete ‘one-off’, even if there were not other books. Having gone through the Outlander series (so far), it provides a wonderful rounding out of life for all the characters of Outlander and Lord John.

LJG is amazing. Diana makes him come alive! As silly as it sounds I want to meet him. I can’t wait for another book. He is my favourite Outlander character, he is gifted, deep and yet infinitely capable

So cleverly written
