Rehashed

I gave up smoking with Allen Carrs audio book and was greatly looking forward to this one however I wasted hours listening to him simply rehash how awesome his quit smoking one was. Disappointing to say the least.

valuable information presented in a tedious ramble

This book was a struggle to finish but I persevered because the success of this method is well documented and I wanted to see if it could help me. I kept dozing off and every time I woke up enough to listen, it sounded like the same idea. I recommend listening to the beginning and then going right to the last chapter, which summarizes every other chapter. Then you can go back to any chapter about which you want to hear more detailed rambling.

load of rubbish

this book is rubbish.. talks about stopping smoking & drinking rather than mindfulness. a waste of time for anyone wanting real help with anxiety

Disappointing

Book refers back constantly to the quitting smoking book, having never been a smoker I could not relate. Was expecting it to be aimed at everyone and not just those with previous addiction problems.

Amazing

I am one of the lucky ones who was freed from smoking using Allen's Easy Way method 5 years ago after 22 years of smoking. 3 years ago I read his Easy Weigh book and lost weight (and maintained). So before I listened to this book I had high hopes but skeptical at the same time. I'm 3 weeks into practicing mindfulness now and my stress levels have reduced, I'm sleeping better and I'm concentrating better. I don't know what it is about his method but it seems to work for me. What an amazing person he was. RIP

Only talks about smoking ????

I don’t smoke!! What a crock of shit !!! Why is this called mindfulness when it only about smoking ???

Mis-sold book

I have read the easy way to stop smoking and yes it did work! 13 years cigarette free! However, I wanted a book on mindfulness and this talked more about the drug and alcohol addiction he addresses in his other books. Disappointed I'm afraid although there were some useful ideas.

Focused too much on addiction particularly smoking

Title is misleading

This book is a book about stopping smoking and drinking alcohol. It has a bit of mindfulness scattered around but it is definitely not what I was expecting.

If you want to give up smoking or drinking then this is a great informative advert for the easy way method. If you want to learn about mindfulness then I suspect there are better books.

The reading was good and I liked the mans voice. Also Allen Carr's method is interesting and the parts about brainwashing ring very true, but it's not a key to mindfulness and not worth an entire book in my opinion - I am disappointed

repetitive but has wisdom

very repetitive and the first few chapters read like an advert for his other work, but there is nuggets of wisdom buried in here. just a shame he repeats so much
