Fifteen years to life is a long time to be sentenced to prison, even if I do deserve it. As the Enforcer of my MC, I had to do some things that would give most people nightmares. I'm prepared to do my time, waiting for my lawyer to appeal my sentence. But when an opportunity presents itself to escape, I take it. I'm on my way back to my clubhouse in Tennessee when I get stuck in a small Missouri town. I have to kidnap the small-town mechanic to aid in my escape, ignoring the unfamiliar cravings I feel towards him.
Finn
After finishing my weekly food run, I'm approached by a hot-as-sin guy in the parking lot with a broken-down truck. I help him out and think he's on his way until he shoves a gun into my back. Turns out that hot guy is an escaped convict and all he wants is my cooperation as a hostage. To live, I'll have to trust him and do everything I can to save my life… including using my body.
The Convict is an age gap, bi-awakening, motorcycle club kinky book. It contains dark themes, murder, violence, heat, and most of all, a hard-fought HEA. It is book one in the Devil's Mayhem MC series. This book contains sharing after MCs are in a relationship.

📖 𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐒-𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐚𝐩 𝐮𝐬:
Rax is the Enforcer for his motorcycle club and is currently serving fifteen years to life in prison for crimes that would apparently haunt most normal people. But when an opportunity to escape presents itself, he bolts for Tennessee and his MC clubhouse… only to get stranded in a tiny Missouri town with a busted truck.
Enter Finn.
Finn is a small-town mechanic just trying to finish his grocery run when he encounters a hot-as-sin stranger needing help with his vehicle. Unfortunately for him, the stranger’s idea of gratitude involves shoving a gun into his back and kidnapping him as a hostage.
Honestly, romance novels remain the only genre where “armed abduction” somehow still qualifies as a meet-cute. 😂
What follows is an age-gap, bi-awakening, kinky biker romance filled with violence, emotional chaos, criminal activity, questionable life choices, and enough testosterone to fuel an entire Harley-Davidson convention.

Overall? It was OK. A light, entertaining enough read - and honestly, after some of the emotionally devastating books I’ve been inhaling lately, this felt almost relaxing by comparison. Which probably says something about my reading habits. 😂🤣
That said, I did struggle with a few things.
Rax is literally a killer. Like… an actual murderer. And while the romance tries very hard to soften him with “brooding, dangerous man who secretly cares,” I still needed a little more accountability somewhere in the mix. Love is lovely, but perhaps prison was not entirely unreasonable here. 😂🤣
The chemistry also didn’t fully convince me. Finn falls for his captor VERY quickly, and while I absolutely understand the sexual-fantasy appeal of a dangerous tattooed mountain of a man taking you apart sexually… in real life, there are approximately seventeen thousand red flags being waved in the air at once. 🚩😂
Still… I weirdly enjoyed it.
The dialogue can be incredibly cheesy at times - so cheesy I practically needed crackers halfway through, but there’s something oddly addictive about the whole thing. It leans hard into sexual fantasy and escapism, and if you surrender to the ridiculousness of it all, it becomes a pretty fun ride.
Also, Finn is absolutely a danger whore and honestly? Respectfully… I saw the vision. 😂 Though I do think his third-act behaviour pushes a little too far beyond what the character had realistically shown up until that point.
I can acknowledge the clunky writing, uneven emotional logic and over-the-top fantasy elements. As a reader? I still turned the pages and had a good time.
And sometimes that’s enough.
If you enjoy biker MM romances with dangerous older men, younger non-bikers, criminal chaos, and a healthy amount of “this is a terrible idea but continue immediately,” then this will probably hit the spot for you.
I rate this 2.5 Danger Whores out of 5. ⚠️🏍️😂
Ok Read/Listen with some Sexual Fantasies

This motorbike-club / hostage-captor / size-difference / bisexual-awakening romance was like a steamy soap opera with death, violence and betrayals looming large. Was I convinced that Finn’s sex-drive would really outweigh his wariness and common sense? No, but given the compelling drama, it didn’t really matter. I thought the first two-thirds of the story was great as we watched Rax and Finn fall for each other, but the convoluted last third seemed very hard to swallow. I was entertained enough to try to next book in the series. This is promoted as a dark romance, so check trigger warnings for the violence and death, but also be warned if you don’t like impromptu MMM scenes. 🎧 The heavy voice of Tor Thom (as Rax) and the lighter voice of Michael Gallagher (as Finn) both worked wonders for the emotion and action of the story!
Great steam & action but became unbelievable!

The narration was pretty good although Tor Thom isn’t my favourite narrator for this type of book. He is one of my favourite narrators in a hot AF Russian mafia series that I love, but I haven’t loved him in the other romance books I’ve listened to that he’s narrated. Michael Gallagher was good though.
Great story
