Amazing parenting book

I wish I had read this book while I was pregnant. So much useful parenting information. I have young children so hopefully I can use my new skills from the book to build the strongest, loving parent child relationship for life. Thank you for writing this book.

thought provoking, good summary

I liked how this parenting book is written in a direct, yet compassionate way, and the suggestions and case example were enlightening. I would recommend bringing an open mind to the ideas, and taking what resonates for you. It's mostly a collated summary of other people's work, accessibly presented.

More focused on younger children

Very good book. Probably more focused on parents of younger children but can be helpful for all.

Great listen for new parents!

Helped me tackle parenting in a more gentle way, a way I wanted to do but didn’t fully understand if it was okay.

A life changing book

As a person who suffers from ADHD, I find it difficult to learn different skillsets with ease and I thought that perhaps parenting would be no different to my daily struggles of the simplest tasks and subsequently, I would not be a good father. What I found in this book was a bridge that brought to a head, all my immediate and future worries and addressed them in the most compassionate and beautiful way. I realised I didn't have to learn the information in this book in the traditional sense, what I heard helped me to empathise with other people because I felt empathised with. I listened to the and felt that Philippa was addressing my own childhood issues, and being understood, I think, helped me change on a near primal level, which in itself was a my own learning process. I would go as far as saying that this book contributed to major changes in my life and while my partner and I don't have children yet, but at least I now know that I have what it takes to be a good father.

Excellent read!!! Highly recommend

I love this book, it has taught me a lot about myself, my inner child, my parenting style and things I want to change for myself, my partner and my son. It was easy to listen to, the exercises were extremely helpful and it really opened my eyes to the kind of parent I want to be and I will be. I have already recommended it to all of the mums I know and all of my friends - even the ones that aren’t parents… I feel like this book could benefit us all. My favourite part was repair over rupture - I won’t forget it. ♥️
