Publisher's Summary

Things are coming to a head for Ahren and his companions. It is true that they have won the Paladins Fisker and Aluna over to their cause in the campaign against the Adversary, but the Pall Pillar is going through an ominous change.

Not realizing that the High Fang Sven has brought his master a gruesome sacrifice, the companions gather quickly in King's Island, where they join the first conclave to be held in centuries. Yet, on their arrival they are confronted with dreadful news: unknown Dark Ones have overrun the tiny country of Hjalgar, whose inhabitants are now in mortal danger. Ahren is now facing his most difficult task, for the Dark Days have returned to Jorath with a vengeance.

Fantastic Saga

A really great story with utterly engaging narration by Gildart Jackson as usual, who adds emotion and life into the mix. 😁

Good story, dissatisfied narration.

The narrator mispronounced some words quite badly on a fair few occasions. E.g. saying "menthal" rather than "mental". This broke my immersion quite shockingly as it took me a back everytime. Also through the series the narrator's voices for the characters have changed quite noticably which also makes it more difficult to enioy.

This book series suffers from a few problems.

the good guys r too overpowered, there is no challenge. the good guys have well trained armies, wizards, warriors with magic animals .
The big bad and the leader of the enemy army was a baker with no military training. The enemies are so weak and could not possible pose a threat. in this book the enemy started using arrows and that was the major threat. Is this a joke. The bad guys r so weak the only thing that makes them a threat is the author saying that they are.
