Story
I’m now in my 15th year as an entrepreneur, and over those years my ideas around what an entrepreneur is, and how to build a business, have changed a lot. My university lessons in marketing didn’t serve me too well, but even as a business owner for many years, I continued this habit of looking for someone to give me the answer. Seeking permission. It didn’t work, but what did work was spending years piecing together a new way of marketing through trial, error, and some chance encounters with generous people.

If you are copying these guys, you aren't learning from them. It's easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to 10, adding more of something familiar. Every new creation goes from zero to one. This book is about how to get there.

A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

narration was tops, best I've heard so far. he read it like he was doing a seminar which is far easier to stick with, nothing sounded scripted. apart from that there was a lot of great info in the book and I found it motivating. I'm now a big fan of Dan Norris and will be joining his social media group and subscribing to his mailing list. great book, cheers.

not perfect but more relateable than others
this book is more of a boots on the ground early stage book. most other books I've read are for business beyond where I'm at and don't go into enough detail on the stumbling blocks of getting started with no or little money. I like his performance, but it's not as polished as others. I actually like that for this book, but just be aware.

Cannot Continue
I had already read previous reviews and listened to the sample. I thought myself the narration couldn't be that bad; the content appealed to me too much.
I was wrong. The narration is so, so incredibly terrible, I could not plow through 1 hour. I've requested a refund.
The reader omits commas, periods and tone - defeating the whole point of audiobooks.

Really good read
I enjoyed listening to this book. Lots of titbits on how to ensure a successful launch. I particularly like the fact that the author describes the necessary actions in ways that are not intimidating,- like anyone can do it! Spurs you to take action. The Scottish accent was a bit of a surprise, but I got used to it after the 1st chapter and by the 5th it added quite some authenticity to the read. Will listen to it again and again!
