Publisher's Summary
A moving story of secrets, love and new beginnings from best-selling and ABIA award-winning author Rachael Johns.
Who is the mysterious woman who has captured the town's attention?
Lawson Cooper-Jones has two priorities in life—his son, Ned, and the survival of the dairy farm that has been in his family for generations. Despite the best efforts of the town matchmakers and the determined pursuit of local girl Adeline Walsh, Lawson's heart belongs still, and only, to his late wife.
But when a flat tyre strands Lawson and Ned in nearby Rose Hill, he's surprised to find a woman living alone in the old general store of the deserted town. Ned immediately forms a bond with the beautiful stranger called Meg, and Lawson is surprised to find himself captivated by her too.
Although shy at first, Meg starts to open up to him about the haunting secrets of her new home and, with Lawson unable to get her out of his head, they agree to investigate the history of the old building together. Soon they find their friendship has bloomed into something more.
But when meddling Adeline makes it her mission to uncover the truth about the newcomer and her real identity is revealed, Lawson and Meg's budding romance comes crashing down. Can they both learn to forgive in order to claim a future for their damaged hearts?

Brilliant
I loved every minute of this book. The story of a women that in her younger days had true tragedy and then went off the rails.
She moves to a very tiny town in Western Australia where she tries to loose herself.
She ends up being befriended by an old man who has similar experiences.
She also falls for a guy who has a young son.
The twists and turns of this sad, yet romantic book was hard to stop listening to.
Very well read, also, by Casey Withoos.

Love
This book like most of Rachael Johns books will be the death of me. The narration by Casey along with the story line draws you right in. You feel like you know the people and the surrounds. You don’t want to stop reading, but at the same time you want to stop because if you stop it will mean it lasts longer.

Heartwarming and relatable
I loved this from the beginning, getting straight into the story and not farting about with trivial details but deep enough to sympathise with the characters. I loved this especially because I am from Western Australia and it is so refreshing to read something so close to home (instead of the US).
Loved the characters, the morals, the buildup.
My only teeny tiny peeve - I wish Lawson could have been voiced by a male narrator but Casey Withoos did an amazing job all the same.
This is my first time listening to Rachael Johns and I’ve already got the next one ready to go!

A fantastic engaging read
I loved this book as an audiobook on audible. It was great to read Meg and Lawson's background. I was introduced to them in Something To Talk About but it was good to go back in time and find out more about them. I really like Rachael's exploration of Meg's experience. It was great going back to familiar characters. I loved the reference to Talk of The Town at the end. Casey Withoos is a favourite narrator. Very engaging. Enjoy this one and the read Something To Talk About!

Mystery, romance and a ghost
This book had me hooked from the start.
Mysterious Meg moves to a ghost town in rural Western Australia, finds love and friendship and ultimately happiness. Throw a little bit of a ghost story in the mix with a healthy dose of romance and a few tear jerker moments and you've got the perfect recipe for an unputdownable book.
Wonderful narration by Casey Withoos kept me engaged all the way through.
