An excellent, gripping story. The characters are all memorable and interesting with lots of creative twists. Some twists, although hidden very well, aren't the best twists. Perfect amount of foreshadowing but little reason to listen again.

The main problem is with the writing. There's nothing wrong with it, there's just nothing too memorable about it. It's not outstanding. That said, it still earns its four stars.

Also, I don't think the author knows what a metaphor is.

For me this doesn’t stand up to Sanderson other work. But it’s still better then most anything out there.
Maybe it just didn’t connect with me as much as it might with you.
If you enjoyed Wex and Wayne’s adventure then this will tickle your fancy.
For me I was more drawn to the stormlight archives and early mistbourn

This is still an amazing story with an amount of science to balance the magic and minus Prof and Cody (who come across as a wax and Wayne tribute band) the characters are interesting and well formed, and the story sets a good pace.

I am not surprised I have loved this book, I am a true Sanderson supporter - he doesn't miss when it comes to the Cosmere. But this was different. A post-apocalyptic world with the original signature Brandon always leaves in his work. Absolutely fantastic. The reader was obviously carefully selected - matches the main character perfectly, and his performance adds a lot to the experience. Totally recommend this audiobook - I'll be listening to the next book in the series in a minute or two.

terrific story, a great starter book to the evil hero arch type, a great novel for young teens or adults alike, narrator brought his A+ game and sanderson brought the chills and thrills

Great story, the narrator was really good. Except for the fact that he has a moist mouth. Which should tell you how good this book is, I have sensory issues and almost turned it off multiple times but I just HAD to know what happens next.
