"De Soldaat van Oranje" vertelt hoe hij als jongeman in 1941 de oversteek naar Engeland waagt, in Londen in allerlei intriges verwikkeld raakt, kennismaakt met de geheime diensten, nachtelijke landingen uitvoert in Scheveningen en als RAF-piloot meedoet aan een luchtaanval op Berlijn. Nadat het zuiden van Nederland is bevrijd, werkt hij daar als adjudant van koningin Wilhelmina.
