didn't like the narrator but eventually got used to her. The story took a while to get going but was full of twists which made it interesting

Dragged on. Got quite dull. None of the characters were likeable. A shame as I really enjoyed Surrogate.

Contains Spoilers...

Protagonist is beyond gullible. A doctor, famed and renowned for her surgical skills... yet leaves her only child unattended in a hospital waiting room (he is 6 years old). In the most obvious foreshadowing, he is abducted.

She has previously merely accepted her husband's infidelity without any emotion, when he left her for a patient she sterilised on the operating table after failing to save her baby.

Then husband's subsequent death in her arms (note she is a renowned doctor) by insulin overdose which she simply takes in her stride... while she pursues the husband's girlfriend - the one she sterilised, who was allegedly murdered but no body found, and that murder confessed to in a suicide note, having been committed by the now dead husband... really... come on...

Narration is ok, but the accents are terrible. Police inspector sounds like a 12 year old girl, so unrealistic. Some great ingredients for a good story, but poorly executed, badly edited and probably self published by a vanity project - cannot possibly be a professional publisher putting this out when it needs so much rework.

I'm giving up - there are so many better books out there, don't waste your precious time.

Unprofessional - needs an audit and an editor

Probably the worst book I’ve ever read/listened to. Unrealistic story line, how can someone have so much go wrong - even in fiction 🙄

Great story and told well depicting the depth of a mother's love for her child and the lengths she would go to in order to save him whilst still being compassionate to even the evil perpetrators and so true to self

Ultimate victory over evil

Although a little predictable it was a delightful audiobook to listen to. I liked the characters and how they were presented to the listener - almost making them 3 D

Stunning mystery/thriller
