Publisher's Summary

Let's get one thing straight - Ivy Wilde is not a heroine. In fact she's probably the last witch in the world you'd call if you needed a magical helping hand, regardless of her actual abilities. If it were down to Ivy, she'd spend all day every day on her sofa, where she could watch TV, munch junk food, and talk to her feline familiar to her heart's content.

However, when a bureaucratic disaster ends up with Ivy as the victim of a case of mistaken identity, she's yanked very unwillingly into Arcane Branch, the investigative department of the Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment. Her problems are quadrupled when a valuable object is stolen right from under the Order's noses.

It doesn't exactly help that she's been magically bound to Adeptus Exemptus Raphael Winter. He might have piercing sapphire eyes and a body a cover model would be proud of, but as far as Ivy's concerned, he's a walking advertisement for the joyless perils of too much witch work.

And if he makes her go to the gym again, she's definitely going to turn him into a frog.

love it

I love the twists and turns. Ivy is a onion. Everytime you understand her, another layer is pulled off. There is a little bit of Ivy in all of us, i think. Rafe also grows and changes.
i can't wait to listen to the next book.
The narrator did a fantastic job. i am going to have to find more of her books to listen too as well

the speakers tone and sentence structure was odd. it really distracted from an otherwise good story.

A light, easy listen

This is a great book for some light entertainment that will still draw you in and keep you wondering what's happening next. It was odd to have a US narrator for a British character but the narrator was very engaging despite that. Looking forward to the next one in the series!

A good story

This is a good UF story - magic, slow burn romance (maybe?), different and interesting style of FMC. The narrator being American was confusing though. While she does a good job, hearing a US accent for a UK character was very disconcerting.

Amazing!

Ivy is a great character and very relatable! She comes across on the surface as lazy but underneath probably a bit more like depression and lack of innocence to how shit the world can be.

The world is very detailed and the magic makes sense with no loose ends.

The best part is there is no instat love!!! The romantic interest is obvious however the characters develop nicely together and there relationship is realistic and cute.
Plus, the romantic interest isn't misogynistic and the main character isn't a push over.

Great easy read

Very easy to pick up where you left off. The writing is simple but still keeps you captivated.

Narrator's voice did great with changing tones and setting up each character for the book. I will purchase the second one.
