Publisher's Summary

Jared Stone is a freaking wolf. And I don’t mean that metaphorically, either…

I thought I had it bad - living in my dead Dad’s old hunting blind in the woods, barely staying alive on apples and ramen...that was before the storm hit and destroyed the only form of shelter I had left.

Enter, Jared. The hottest - and most unavailable - guy at school. Except he wasn’t Jared when he pulled me out of the mud. He wasn’t even human.

As if that wasn’t unsettling enough, when he brought me back to his cabin, I found he wasn’t alone. Another guy, one I’d only ever heard about in whispers beneath the bleachers, was there too. Clayton Armstrong: Bad boy extraordinaire. And it turned out, he wasn’t human either.

Mindf--k, right?

At first, all I want to do is run away. But I have nowhere to go, and for whatever messed up reason, Jared is insistent that I stay. Despite Clay’s loud protests.

So, now I’m stuck in a cabin in the woods with two hot as hell wolf shifters. One who wants to protect me. And another who wants to eat me for lunch....

What could go wrong?

Shifted Fate is the first book in Elena Lawson’s new fated-mates shifter series. It’s a full-length paranormal romance you won’t want to miss about two swoon-worthy alphas and the feisty heroine caught between them.

Better than expected

After reading some of the reviews I wasn't expecting much from this, however it was better than expected. I wouldn't say it was fantastic (I find almost all YA a little too tame for my tastes these days) but it was entertaining and not nearly as juvinal or illogical as I was expecting. Definitely going to listen to the next book.

ok

I'd say this was OK. I'm pretty burned out on YA, but I still liked this enough to tentatively be interested in a sequel. The main character is self-sufficient and makes good decisions. The heroes are adorable and patient in their own ways.

But I do have complaints. One, the main character has a serious case of 'not like other girls.' I have to ask, what's wrong with being like a girl? What does it say about internalized misogyny that young heroines always have to be "unlike other girls." Second, (going along with the not-like-other-girlness) large parts of her personality aren't explained. She's willing to live in a hunting blind in the forest because she doesn't want to be a burden on anyone. That's a pretty drastic choice. Her father taught her to hunt and fix motors, etc. This all felt very extreme, like they were Preppers or something. But none of this behavior is ever even addressed.

Third, this is labeled a reverse harem. However, throughout the book, there is only the one guy she is interested in and showing interest in her. Nothing else comes into play until literally the last page. I suspect it will become a reverse harem, but it sure wasn't here.

Fourth, I thought the whole kidnapping scene broke the pace of the plot and felt out of place. Similarly, the fact that she didn't guess the twist is pretty unbelievable. It was fairly obvious.

Lastly, the book literally ends when the most interesting thing happens. What felt like it should be midway into a longer, more complete story. As such, I suspect this is more of a serial than a series. I prefer to be warned of this going into a book.

All in all, I didn't hate it. As I said, I'd read more. But it's not flawless.

Note; I received a free audible code for this book. I chose to listen and review it.

A secret world revealed

Allie is living with secrets and lies. She stays in a hunting blind in the woods outside her small town. Her best friends don’t know and Allie is trying to make it to age 18.
She had a boyfriend who was not what he appeared to be.
A storm changes her life and introduces her to the paranormal. Jared and Clay are wolves - shifters.
There is much about this story that is dark. But it did intrigue me and I may see where the series goes from here.
I liked Allie for the most part. She would have had fewer problems if she had told some truths and trusted the people that helped her instead of running.
I listened to the audiobook and received a code from the author.

Incredible!!!

Shifted Fated by Elena Lawson and narrated by Heather Costa is the first book in the series The Wolves of Forest Grove.
We meet Allie Grace, our FMC, Jared Stone, one MMC and Clay Armstrong the other MMC. Allie is basically alone in the world. Her parents are dead and her Aunt and Uncle have left her alone so they could go to Florida. Allie doesn't want anyone to know that she is living in her dads' old hunting blind, but Jared finds out on accident. A massive storm is about to hit as Allie gets off the bus, she makes it to the blind then the storm hits. The blind is taken down by a falling tree and when she finally gets to her feet, she sees that a mudslide is happening and tries to run. Out of nowhere, a white wolf shows up and helps pull her out of the mud, When she wakes up, she finds she is in a cabin with Jared, the untouchable gorgeous boy from school and last years bad boy Clayton.
Dive into Shifted Soul to find out just what happens when you leave a 17 year old girl alone.
Would I listen to this book again? YES
Would I recommend this book to others? YES
You are left with a cliffhanger, but book 2 is already out.

Decent YA Book

This wasn’t top notch but certainly wasn’t a waste of time either. I found this book to be entertaining and kept me entertained during my commutes to work. I definitely feel that this author has potential! If you need something for entertainment but not life changing, give this a listen. It was worth it.

Oh Wow! Really enjoyed this story!

The main character is a 17 yr old, self resilient, young woman who is trying to fly under the radar. She is living in a blind in the Forest, going to school and working 1 or more jobs to save up enough to rent a apartment when she turns 18 yrs old. Her father died not to long ago and she only has a Aunt & Uncle who she doesn't care for.

Shifted fate

This is the first book in this series and is a promising story. Allie has had a hard life which has made her strong but hopefully this will help prepare her for what is to come. Jarad and Clayton where lads she would never have expected to have involved in her life but when things taken an unexpected turn they are there to help. With the discovery of wolf shifters what else are out there. I enjoyed listening to this story and the way it ended I am glad I got the next one ready to listen to straight away.

Original wolf story

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

I know there’s a lot of wolf stories around these days but I love the originality of Allie’s story. This is a story of someone who keeps fighting despite what shit gets thrown at her. A lot of unanswered questions which makes you intrigued to continue and damnit a cliffhanger!! The characters although mysterious are well developed and hopefully more will be answered in the following books!

I’m absolutely loving this story and very glad to have given it a listen!
