An excellent story about Roger Rogerson and his associates. Having grown up in Sydney there were always stories about him and it was good to know that even he as a policeman was almost as stupid as the average criminal.

Roger Rogerson has been a fascinating person to follow through the years. McNab’s book gives a thorough and honest account about the two sides of Rogerson. One of care and compassion-the charming man, the other side being a man who could kill anybody he perceived as getting in the way of what he wanted.

This is a highly recommended read for anybody who is interested in Australian true crime and in particular Rogerson.

Duncan McNab takes a close look at Roger Rogerson, a man who had the skill to be a top cop but who chose to one of the worst. McNab knows his stuff and this is a very compelling listen. Crisply narrated by the excellent Andrew Martin. I breezed through this book and hope more of McNab's work turns up as audiobooks soon. Updated to include Rogerson's passing in January 2024.

This is a great book on a subject of the most significant importance for Australian cultural history. The hard-working author has worked too document the dark side of underworld and policing cultures - and the significant overlap between those two worlds this audiobook is very well read and leaves the sensational subject to speak for itself.

Great story about the Sydney gang wars and over a police officer going bad. I remember a lot of the headlines of the age and this book fills in a lot of the gaps. Highly recommend

The story appeared to be very accurate and concise, in fact, so much so, I thought I was listening to Rheem of courthouse transcripts. I expected to be entertained by a story of the unholy escapades of a likable Rouge, instead it was more of a witness statement / blow by blow of different events, presented like an episode of crime stoppers or delivered like a journalist day in court..
