About this listen
My name is Rachel Price, and two months ago, I walked away from the perfect man. Sweet and funny, and so hot it should be illegal—we shared one magical night. No names. No strings. I never thought I'd see him again.
I was wrong. It turns out Mr. Perfect is the playboy grinder for the Jacksonville Rays, the NHL's hottest new hockey team . . . and I'm his new physical therapist. Oh, and the jerk doesn't even recognize me!
This fellowship is going to be the longest ten months of my life. Mr. Perfect Mistake will do anything to get back on my good side. Meanwhile, his best friend is the surly new equipment manager always riding my case. Worst of all, I've got an uncooperative goalie who thinks I can't tell he's hiding an injury!
This is my chance to prove myself, and I'm not risking it for anything. But with one unexpected night, one secret revealed, these men are ready to test all my limits. I can't fall for a player . . . let alone three. But if love is a game, these guys are playing to win.
Bonus content: Audio edition includes the spicy prequel novella That One Night.

I liked how the relationships developed better the two guys and their dynamics together as well. Didn’t like the end where they all changed their names

The characters specifically Rachel and Jake were quite needy and annoying at times. The book definitely could've been shorter.
The chemistry and "sharing" just didn't feel very natural at all which had me struggling to connect with the book and characters too.
Favourite character was probably Mars, although I definitely don't think this love square thing is what he really wants.
Also the pet names, for example "angel" gave me a bit of the ick.
I've caught the Ick

The narrative uses multiple points of view to explore communication, trust, and evolving group dynamics. Rather than relying on rivalry-driven conflict, the book emphasizes cooperation, discussion, and gradual alignment of goals. This structure allows the story to focus on how the characters function together over time.
Character development is a key component of the book. Each central figure is given distinct traits, motivations, and backgrounds, which helps differentiate their roles within the story. Supporting characters, including teammates and family members, add continuity and expand the setting beyond the main storyline. These elements reinforce the sense of a broader community within the hockey environment.
The plot is detailed and methodical, with attention given to pacing and continuity across chapters. Smaller thematic elements, such as personal habits and individual perspectives, are used to provide additional texture without distracting from the core narrative.
The audiobook is narrated by Amy Hall, Alex Kydd, and Ash Beverly. The narration is clear and well-coordinated across perspectives, making character transitions easy to follow and supporting the multi-POV format.
Overall, Pucking Around offers a structured and engaging standalone that blends sports, character-driven storytelling, and ensemble dynamics effectively.
