About this listen

My name is Teddy O'Connor, and I just made a terrible mistake. It's been six years since I was an intern for the Jacksonville Rays NHL team. And it's been six long years since I first met him. Henrik Karlsson, star forward of the Rays...and king of my heart.

I'm a doctor now, a respected professional in my field. And Henrik doesn't even know I exist. So, you tell me why I'm risking everything to follow this man halfway around the world!

After receiving news of his sister's tragic death, Henrik must fly to Sweden to retrieve his young niece. She's injured and grieving, but a new hockey season is about to start. Henrik can't possibly care for her alone. In fact, the Swedish government won't let him. I'd be heartless not to help...right?

Well, that's what I told myself last week as I signed our Swedish marriage license. And it's what I'm telling myself now as the Rays PR Director stares us down. They want this marriage to look real. The team's public image, our jobs, and his niece's custody agreement all depend on it.

But my problem isn't that I don't love my new fake husband. God help me, my problem is that I do.

Contains mature themes.

This one was a bit more emotional with different topics like child custody.
It was a slow burn but worth it. The relationship was beautiful. And it was nice to see lots of the previous book characters again.
I have mixed feelings about the audio… I can appreciate it would be tricky to do a Swedish accent but it didn’t quite land right for me and pulled me out of the story sometimes, which I hate.

Solid addition to the series

Great story but compared to the first couple books but still a nice story with good spice in parts.

Diontae should have narrated the book by himself, his Swedish accent was great. Unfortunately Tor's accent is comical and ruins Hendrick's chapters

Great story, shame about the narrator!

Bad swedish accent at times it made the story slow and boring and made Henrick feel dumb. Teddy was good

So as usual absolutely LOVE this book, this series is everything and Emily is the best. These books are my Roman Empire! Been looking forward to this audio for so long and I never like to say bad things about narrators, in fact I’ve listened to 300 audiobooks in the past 18 months and this is the first time I’ve ever left a neg review about a narrator, but omg the narrator for Hen is so painful to listen to I can’t cope. The worst fake accent I’ve ever heard. It’s sounds like some is taking the piss doing a mix between a German, Irish, Indian accent. I really wanted to dnf this but only cause of the narrator not cause of the book. Teddy was great. I like the narrator of Hen when he speaks in his own accent just not the fake painful Hen accent he puts on. 🥴

The accent? 🫣
