About this listen

My name is Tess Owens, and my life is officially on fire. I never thought dancing at my best friend's wedding would be the match to light the flames. But with one lingering touch, one longing look . . . and one sneaky caterer holding a camera phone, my almost ex-husband is ready to torch my entire life.

Unwilling to face the heat, I do what I do best: I run. Straight into the arms of Rachel and her team of NHL hockey players. One player stands apart from the rest. Jacksonville Rays star forward Ryan Langley is out with an injury. I get the surprise of my life when he shows up at my door, declaring himself my roommate.

Now I have six weeks to launch a new business. Six weeks to fight for my freedom . . . all while fighting my growing attraction to this All-American sweetheart. Did I mention he's ten years younger than me?

I want to believe him when he says age is just a number. I want to believe that our pasts don't define us forever. But first I have to stop running. With one innocent dance, Ryan Langley helped me start this fire. What if we're meant to fan these flames? What if, together, we're meant to burn?

Contains mature themes.

MF romance with reference to FF. Once the A play was brought in the spice was all A play for the rest of the book. I love my spicy scenes and I can handle listening to A play but personally it was too much for me. Most is Tess topping also. Boss ass Dom female giving it to Ryan

Lots of but stuff

I listened to this straight after Pucking Around. Now Pucking Around was spicy AF, and I loved the story, but Pucking Wild was next level! Not as spicy, but the storyline and characters pulled me in hard! Much slower burn, but I was hooked. We all need a ‘beach puppy’!

Amazing!!

Pucking Wild by Emily Rath is a contemporary sports romance that expands the Jacksonville Rays universe with a more character-driven focus. The story centers on Tess, a woman reassessing her direction after major life changes, and Ryan, a young professional hockey player adjusting to both career pressures and personal challenges.

The narrative explores themes of communication, self-understanding, and navigating differences in life experience. The age gap between the main characters is handled thoughtfully, with attention given to personal agency, boundaries, and mutual respect. Ryan’s learning difficulties are incorporated into the storyline in a way that informs his interactions and decision-making without defining his character entirely.

Supporting characters play a meaningful role throughout the book, reinforcing continuity with earlier installments while also contributing independent story moments. Relationships outside the central pairing, including friendships and team dynamics, add context and structure to the overall narrative.

The pacing balances quieter, reflective sections with group scenes and situational developments, allowing the story to progress steadily while maintaining focus on character growth. Several recurring settings are used to advance relationships and highlight shifts in perspective.

The audiobook is narrated by Amy Hall and Alex Kydd. Both narrators provide clear delivery and consistent characterization, supporting smooth transitions between dialogue and internal narration.

Overall, Pucking Wild stands out as a well-developed installment that deepens the series through focused character exploration and cohesive storytelling.

Loved this book! Super spicy ++ would definitely read again. The only downfall is the whisper sync narration but can’t avoid that

Juicy
