Publisher's Summary

In the heart of rural England, a group of privileged students at an exclusive private school are gearing up for their annual event, which involves opening their doors to the local village. These students, who are accustomed to expressing their class privilege and looking down on the "plebs" from the nearby town, are outraged at the thought of mingling with them.

Among the students is the scholarship-earning son of the caretaker, an outsider who is not accepted by his peers. He teams up with a local girl who shares his sense that something is not right with the townsfolk. As they navigate the chaos of the virus outbreak, they find themselves fighting for survival alongside both plebs and poshos.

The virus causes those infected to mutate into flesh-eating monsters, and as the situation worsens, the pair witness increasingly violent and hilarious attempts by others to fight for their lives. They must use their wits and any resources they can find to stay alive until dawn breaks.
