Publisher's Summary

Fight fat at its true source: your cells.

An MIT-trained scientist explains the one secret you need to know to lose weight and keep it off.

Raymond Francis is the scientist people turn to when diets don’t work. His groundbreaking approach treats excess weight for what it really is—a disease caused by malfunctioning cells. As Francis explains, many of the foods we eat every day, especially the “health” and “diet” ones we dutifully buy to lose weight, have the opposite effect. Full of hidden toxins and lacking nutrients, they actually poison your cells and alter your weight-control genes, causing your body to put on the pounds. Like he’s done for thousands of other people, Raymond Francis can help you turn this fat cycle around and reclaim your waistline—and your health.

His simple yet scientifically supported plan will have you looking and feeling better than you have in years in just six weeks. You’ll discover which low-fat and no-fat products actually make you fatter; how one missing nutrient can signal your body to store fat; which food additives are most toxic—and how to spot them on a label; the “Big 4” worst foods to eat—with delicious and nutritious alternatives; and how to sneak more fiber- and nutrient-rich foods into your day. Plus, Francis offers delicious recipes for meals and snacks and week-by-week to-do lists to keep you on track.

Your body already knows how to regulate its weight; you just need to give it a fighting chance. Now you can—for life.

A single-sided vegan only book

This is for vegan only, not for fat lost nor stay healthy.

The author is neither a Doctor nor Scientist. He is basically sharing his experience on his own health seeking journey. Many arguments are outdated or incorrect according to researches to date. For example, topics like saturated fats, animal protein, cow milk and nitrate & nitride.

It is better of to go for "Big Fat Surprise - by Nina Teicholz", "Wheat Belly - by William Davis" and "Fat Chance - by Robert Lustig"

Absolutely so far off the mark.

To be fair, nutritional science is moving forward as fast as computing science, renewable energy and other new sciences (yes, nutrition is still only 6 weeks of elective subjects for medical students and covered in Year 1 of a 15 year program).

However, there is a complete lack of understanding of the falling nutritional value of produce today; that our taste drives that push us to hidden hunger; of the relevance of phytonutrients to health; and the importance of our microbiome and the gut-brain links.

You get this sort of information in the weekly women's magazines and rubbish online sites and it is 5 years or more behind true nutritional understanding.

interesting perspective on diet and health

I'm reviewing this as while living the keto lifestyle. This is an exciting take on the topics of Health sickness, wellness, disease, and diet.
I never had a six-pack on a standard American diet or a heavily plant-based diet, but I do on keto.
There are still tons of useful info I plan to implement in my life.

Germ theory isn’t fake.

I couldn’t get past the ignorance of saying germ theory does not cause disease. Burn more calories than you eat and you will lose weight.

Vegan propaganda-biased.

This book is nothing more than vegan propaganda that cherry picks examples and misrepresents its ‘statistics’.

Plant based trash

Another one. 3 chapters saying that every way of doing things will kill you and then stunning fact that plant based is the only way.
Rubbish
