About this listen

Downton Abbey meets Agatha Christie with a touch of Wodehouse and a dog of distinction.

It's 1920 and Christmas is coming. Major Lennox finds a body on his doorstep—why on his doorstep? Was it to do with the Countess? Was it about the ruby necklace? Lennox goes to Melrose Court home to his uncle, Lord Melrose, to uncover the mystery. But then the murders begin and it snows and it all becomes very complicated....

Major Heathcliff Lenno, ex WW1 war pilot, 6feet 3inch, tousled dark blond hair, age around 30—named after the hero of Wuthering Heights by his romantically minded mother—much to his great annoyance. Murder at Melrose Court is the first book in the Lennox series—Book 2, The Black Cat Murders is number 2 in the series. Follow Karen Menuhin for more news.

What a find! Just a pleasant little romp. Light hearted, self deprecating, reasonable length, great narrator. I'm jumping right back in to listen to the next 2 in the series.

Absolutely delightful

I have read all the books in this series so far and have relistened to them all a few times. Fantastic narrator with a really relaxing voice. Only problem is having to wait for the next book to be made into audio. Bring on the next one please.

Favourite audible book series and this is an awesome start.

I enjoyed listening to all four books in the series so much. The stories were wonderfully engaging. Lennox was so well drawn as a character I forgot he was not actually alive. Mr Fog (foggy) well I would love a dog like that. Mr Tubbs is such a cute well behaved kitty. The rest of the cast adding so much to the stories. The narrator Sam Dewhurst Phillips was amazing. So many different voices and accents I had to look for anything else he had narrated but sadly couldn't find any thing. A well written murder mystery with a touch of fun. I will listen to them all again while I wait for more books in the series.
Thank you Karen for your wonderful books.
