Publisher's Summary

In this work of deep reflection, insight, and vulnerability, Caroline Brunne shares her story of becoming the woman she is today. From the shores of the picturesque island of Mauritius, to suburban Victoria, through to her childhood home in Queensland, deep in the heart of her life journey is her lived experience of trauma, the impact of childhood sexual abuse and her ongoing quest to support her fellow survivors to reduce the shame they may carry.

With sensitivity around the subject of childhood sexual abuse, Caroline courageously discloses her truth while examining the complexities of trauma as she learns that more than one thing can be true. There is a strong message of hope and courage in Caroline’s story as she opens up conversations to enable opportunities for change, both in survivor support and in the space of child safety.

Walk beside Caroline as she sheds the label of victim and claims her powerful voice as a survivor.

A raw and authentic account of childhood trauma

Caroline's memoir was moving to listen to, especially being narrated in her own voice. In sharing her story in an open, vulnerable yet strong and assured way Caroline offers insights, support and actionable steps for both victims and their families and the wider community around them.

Such an impactful memoir

This memoir is so many things - impactful; vulnerable; courageous; self aware and so much more. Caroline shares so powerfully her own story so that it may impact others, no matter what lens they are experiencing it through. Thank you for sharing your truth x

This memoir saw me!

For someone who is boldly stepping into doing the work on cleaning trauma, Caroline spoke to areas of my soul that I didn’t realise were still unseen and therefore unavailable for healing. A beautiful journey to witness and a gift. Thank you
