The use of the word "dude" isn't as common as the prior book, however Elaine's internal monologues have consistent turns of phrase like "to boot" and the word "sure" that are borderline excessive. Character dialogue is a mixed bag, the characters are generally well done but interactions are almost always interrupted by Elaine's navel gazing for several pages.
