تجمع السجناء على أثر تلك الصرخة التي اهتزت لها جدران السجن وعندما تجمع أكبر عدد منهم بدأ الظلام يأخدهم شيئا فشيئا وواحدا تلو الاخر وخيل لعابد أنه كان يسمع صوت عظامهم تتهشم ، وكأن أسنانًا غرزت فيها..

رائحة الدماء أصبحت تغزو المكان، نظر عابد اتجاه صهيل فوجده ساكنًا لا يتحرك متخذًا وضعيه الركوع لم يفهم ما المغزى من ذلك ..

بدأ ذلك الصوت ينادى باسمه مرة أخرى وقد ارتجف قلب عابد فقد أصبح المكان شبه خالي من السجناء لم يبق سواه وصهيل الراكع ورائحة الدماء وذلك الصوت الرهيب، الدماء أصبحت تصل الى أقدام عابد بدأ في أن يسمع صوت خطوات هادئة تتقدم تاجه لم يشعر بشيء سوى بتلك اليد المكسوة بالشعر ومخالبها الطويلة تقبض على عنقه وصهيل مبتسم لأنّه رأي سيده بعد فترة طويله !!"
