About this listen

Can these opposites turn up the heat . . . without burning down the house?

House-flipping sensation Maggie Nichols can't wait to dig into her next challenge: a crumbling Victorian mansion in a tiny American town. With only four months to do it, Maggie has her to-do lists, her blueprints and her team. What she doesn't have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright.

The man takes flirtation to a whole new level. And he does it shirtless . . . He's impressively persistent. But Maggie's not interested in putting down roots. A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar.

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls Maggie's spent years building, sending her into a panic. He's the wrench in her carefully constructed plans. With the end of the project looming, Maggie has a decision to make. But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?

Maybe the mansion isn't the only thing due a revamp: her heart has been long neglected.

Great author and story but narrator awful and maybe dual narration would have saved it

Another outstanding book by Lucy Score. Such a beautiful interwoven story of life and family. All starting with an old house on a hill and a stubborn woman with something to prove.
Narration by Emma Wilder brought all the characters to life in the audiobook. An absolutely enjoyable story to read and hear.

All the feels!

My first Lucy book after I read a recommendation from Nora Roberts and it’s a favourite I have re-read yearly until I downloaded the audiobook - this story made me cry happy tears - it isn’t super complex, it’s just a great story and well worth the read

Nice to see a book where the protagonist does her own thing. The love interest was a bit too self assured for my liking except for that typical third act freak out, but otherwise cute story.

Really enjoyed it

Great listen, light-hearted with comedy and some touching moments. Narrator was very good, easy to listen to.

Great, easy listen

The narration really grated at times with the constant uplift at the end of words and the story was a tad oversexed for my tastes but a cute story and easy listen most of the time (aside the groan and ewww moments).

A good rom com

Really struggled with this one. this is written in 3rd person which is difficult for me to begin with. A cute romance but when compared to her other books, was a let down.

not my favourite Lucy Score book

This is probably a great story but the narrator’s dialogue is SO annoying!!
It’s like listening to a news presenter that only does inflection on allll her words.
Ironically, when she talks in the characters voices, she’s way less annoying but I just can’t stand it.
Its so annoying for me that I couldn’t get past the first chapter. I’ll be previewing all my books before purchasing from now on.

Bad narrator
