LOVED this series!!
I normally can't be bothered writing reviews but I felt I needed to for this series. I found the first book by chance and was hooked within the first hour. I was a little frustrated initially at the book finishing and then having almost short stories in the postludes but when I finished them, I LOVED it. I love the depth it added to the characters and as the books proceeded, I appreciated the postludes even more. This final book was EPIC! it was a fantastic wrap up and conclusion to an epic tale...there was even tears! thanks for an awesome tale narrated extremely well. HIGHLY recommended!

Lost a star for excessive use of “hither and thither”
Derek Perkins is brilliant! I love his work and how he clearly delineated each characters voice and vocal mannerisms. The story was also quite enjoyable. It had some slow parts but all stories do. Biggest drawback for me was as noted in the title. It might work well in written form, but spoken word it just yanked me out of the moment every time. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. I greatly liked the religious depths that were looked at.

Bad writing, low quality voice acting
The writing in this whole series is terrible. I stayed on for the story, but it was entirely predictable and annoyingly cliche right to the very end. The voice actor was terrible with female roles, and his bad acting made the experience worse. I had to take breaks often, and I'm the kind of person who usually has trouble turning books off.

The Fall of All Things
This last book, for me, was the best of the series. It brought everything together, but it was also very sad in many ways. The one storyline I did not particularly warm to was that of Annise and Tarin. I found it repetitive and concentrated too much on the couple, which caused me to fast forward. However, I loved Gareth for his sensitive nature; Gwen for her loyalty; Christoff Metz for his naivety and steadfastness; Mona for her innocence; Shanti for her strength. But above all, my favourite character has to be Siri for sheer spirit and endurance. This will be one I will listen to again as it was a powerful series, made all the more enjoyable by the narration of Derek Perkins, who will be added to my list of preferred narrators.

The entire series of books was a superb listen and this book was a fantastic end to it all A book filled with amazing characters, exciting beasts and evil needing to be overcome, What was just as wonderful was the inspiration the book brought that people can change, become better and make the world better for everyone in it. The author did an amazing job and Derek Perkins who brought this book series to life really made it a worthy listen. Will I listen to this series again, a resounding YES.

He does it again - thanks David ;.)
This is page by page adventure and surprises - Thank you David for writing such an amazing story which I thoroughly enjoyed. The concept is strong The character development is strong - e.g. you find yourself liking characters that you shouldn't The narration is really good - Derek does a good job at a female voice and making it credible You look and think 22 hours wow that's long, but it's so good it feels like 5 minutes! He also gives you back stories at the end which give you further insight into the characters (he could have done these as flashbacks just as well) never mind the book LOVED THIS SERIES The length of the books gives such value for money & the brilliance of it doesn't dwindle off - as strong as the first page from book one.

Amazing
Gripping from the first book to the last, great opportunity for a tv show or film. The series is like a mix of Game of thrones' power struggles and Lord of the rings adventures. More please Mr Estes. Also another great performance by Derek Perkins.
