Publisher's Summary

Climb the Tower. Feed the Town.

Blackmoor Cove has been pulled back from the edge of oblivion, but that doesn’t mean the fight is over. While the all-consuming Corruption pushes harder against their progress, Jack embraces his new responsibility to rebuild the broken people around him. However, none of it will last unless he enters the Tower every morning and defeats the vicious monsters within for their valuable loot drops.

With the Arcane Mage, Thymus, now in the party, they will climb higher than ever before, but will the 12 years of terrible isolation make the time-lost Hero unreliable when he once again confronts the unending nightmares found inside the Tower?

This “Crunchy” GameLIT/LitRPG story contains: item-based game mechanics, town building, countless unique monsters, boss fights, and cheaty special abilities.

Irrelevant Jack 2

Prax Venter is one the most talented and skilled author and I enjoy his book greatly. And with the voice acting talents and skills of Andrea Parsneaus, Jeff Hays, Justin Thomas James and Prax Venter who narration makes the characters and world come alive with the narration.

Imaginative and no BS fun

This series lacks all the common tropes that I hate so much in a lot of books nowadays. Finally there is No weak male heroes that get humiliated nonstop by their female betters, No sexual violence, No woke BS, No whining MC who constantly tells the reader how unfair everything is, No nonstop worshiping and praising of US military, No dumb idiot MC who wins because of completely undeserved luck ("the Land"... Yuck!) But an MC who actually uses his brain. The whole world is extremely varied and it's never boring. Note that this isn't a "thrill ride" by any means, but it's never bland or dull. 5 stars It is not as good as Towers of Heaven series, the Gam3 series, Ritualist & Regicide by Dakota Krout or Shadowsun survival series. But what is. Dante's Immortality is a must read too, but it's just 1 book atm. If you are a fan of litrpg/ gamelit/ Isekai then this is for you Or if you just like fantasy or scifi with a twist.

Exquisite

Everything about this book is breathtaking. The character development is better than Lord of the Rings, the setting is unique and refreshing and the main character is so relatable that it makes you feel like you’re part of the book. I loved the first book just as much, this is one of the few times I am happy to say that this book is the perfect continuation of a story.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!! :D

I've waited quite a while for book 2 to come to audible and I loved it, they expanded on the world building, existential questions, insight into character development, great action sequences, one of my favorite aspects of Irrelevant Jack is the randomness of each new floor, I wish we had a video game IRL capable of achieving the same thing! Thank you Prax for another fabulous edition!

Eh..

The concept of the story is fine, it's just the execution gets more and more silly.. it's like the author gave up on a game world and just pulled whatever lint came out of his pockets and said "eh, fight this next round".

Awesome!

What can I say, but another great story from Prax! He really knew how to keep me on my toes, and made me feel like I was climbing the tower right there with the heroes. Cannot wait to listen to book 3 when it comes out.

Wonderfully entertaining

The characters have fleshed out a bit , the story has evolved and Jacks ignorance which used to annoy me has now gone and a leader has arrived to help lead the town into the higher levels. Things have got exciting and so the narration flies along with a lot more ease now with the niggles i had with the first audio gone. I feel like the tale has gotten more of my attention and that the series has a lot more legs to it and im moving onto audio 3 a lot more confident in what i will be enjoying. I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts.

Climb the Tower

Carries on from book 2 with more of the same, traversing a tower over and over to increase gear quality and give the rest to fuel the town to repel the demons. Jack starts to increase his team to venture further up the tower and tries to increase to towns defences. I did find that the loot descriptions went on a bit much. Soundbooth do a great job with a nice cast of narrators.

The second leg

This is the second book in the series. Following the adventures of Jack, trapped in a mine collapse, and taken as energy to a new world, where his ‘out the box’ thinking helps fight back the corruption of the land and gain further levels in the tower. There is actually too much to say that would be a massive spoiler for those reading this series, suffice it to say that this is an engaging story rife with character relationships and developments that keep you reading / listening. I particularly enjoyed the audio book version, which is more of a full production, than a straight read, with different voice actors and sound effects. There are several gaming platform releases that will be recognised by the listener throughout the tower crawls, and some that are from the purely weird imagination of the author. I am eagerly awaiting the next release.
