When Japan moves into summer, festivals are held all over the country. 日本を代表する祭りの一つである祇園祭を筆頭に、日本では、夏になると各地で祭りが行われます。
夏祭りの目的は、先祖の霊を供養するもの、台風除けを願うもの、暑さに負けず無病息災を願うものなどさまざまです。
多くの祭りでは神輿が町なかを練り歩き、花火が打ち上げられ、人々が踊り、夜店が並ぶなどの光景が見られます。
