Incomplete story
The pace picked up a little in this episode of the story, but it's become more contrived. The interpersonal relations between Dakota and Logan deteriorated into utter absurdity. Again, the story is incomplete, ending in another cliffhanger. Stacey Glemboski delivers an excellent performance. She gives distinctive voices to the characters and paces her narration well. Note: I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Into the Fire
A great continuation to a great series! This book is full of action, but it has so much more. Kyla Stone has created amazing characters, full of flaws and just trying to survive in a world decimated by nuclear attack. The author tells the main characters' stories with great emotion and the narrator does an amazing job in portraying these emotions. You could really feel the pain as Dakota, Eden and Logan finally revealed their innermost feelings. I have been waiting for these stories since the very first book, so I am glad that the author did such a great job in telling them. Of course, some characters that the reader has come to love are killed (no spoilers from me), but I have come to expect that in a post-apocalyptic book. Emotions are laid raw as the other characters try to deal with the losses and I could really feel their pain. The narrator, Stacey Glemboski, does a fantastic job. Her pacing and emotion is perfect and her performance really added a lot to my enjoyment of this book. I am so glad that I have the final book in this series in my Library because I don't wait to see how the whole thing ends! I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author/publisher/narrator and chose to review it.

Escape to the Swamp
Dakota, Eden, Logan, Julio and Park have arrived at Ezra's cabin in the Florida Everglades in this fourth book of the 'Nuclear Dawn' series written by Kyla Stone. The action begins immediately after the cliffhanger ending of Book 3. If you haven't read/listened to the prior installments in this series, it would be a good idea to do that before getting to this one. These books don't stand alone well, in my opinion. As Dakota's group find their way to Ezra's cabin, Maddox's information allows the cult group to find Ezra first. Using torture, they attempt to obtain information on the whereabouts of Dakota and Eden. Maddox and the Shepherds remain a threat throughout the book, with a climactic shootout. While staying alert for more Shepherds to arrive, the group meet fellow residents who have also live in the swamp. Will they become allies or enemies? Who will survive? Quite a bit of tension develops with this installment. As predicted, Ezra is not keen on Dakota bringing strangers to his home. The local residents don't seem too keen on the newcomers either. And there's always the looming threat of Maddox coming to exact his revenge. On top of all that, the residents are dealing with refugees arriving from the city, looking for hand-outs or whatever they can take. Kyla Stone delivers suspense from multiple avenues with this part of the story. She's skilled at keeping readers in a constant state of suspense. The reader gets a good amount of character development here as well. From Maddox's POV we see more of what is driving his behavior. He also gives readers a fuller behind-the-scenes look at what the Shepherds are up to. Dakota and Logan are still dealing with their guilt, but have finally admitted to each other their romantic feelings. I was glad to see that last part happen after the build up to it throughout the series. Thankfully, there is no cliffhanger here. The ending, while not finishing the overall arc, has a very satisfying end-point, giving readers the sense that this chapter is complete. Stacey Glemboski is ever perfect with her performance here. She's able to convey the emotions of the characters in a believable way. I listened to this audiobook courtesy of a free review copy that I requested. This post is my honest, voluntary opinion of it. Recommended.

Excellent Story Continues in Book 4
I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of Into the Fire - Nuclear Dawn, Book 4 by Kyla Stone and narrated by Stacey Glemboski. This continues to be a great story. Character development remains consistent and realistic. This book also kept me engaged and listening to it constantly. Stacey makes that easy but, of course, the story helps too, lol. Overall this was a great story continuing the saga and I highly recommend it.

always the religious rhetoric. book sucks dont buy
Why does all EOTW books have to have a religious bent to it? Honestly, you have a mental handicap if you believe in a god or religion period. religion should be illegal, outlawed, an executionable offense, world wide. this book sucks. dont buy it. the scenarios the characters are placed in are absolutely ridiculous! anyone caught up in the ambushes and gun fights demonstrated in this book deserve to have their dna wiped from this earth. stupidity breeds stupidity and this author is stupid.

Such a good sequel
It's no surprise that I absolutely love this series. I can't get enough of it, and this book was no different. Once again, Stone keeps your attention, and draws you into the post apocalyptic world to see what's going to happen to the characters, who will survive, and how they will make it through. I was hooked from the start, and actually read this from start to finish in one day. I can't say enough good things about this series (I've actually sent a copy of this series to my sister, and told my boss that he has to read it). It's a great ride, with wonderful characters, and cool world building. Stone is a great writer, and I'm so excited to read the last book of this series!

I won’t say much about the storyline otherwise I will spoil it for others. I have listened to the previous 3 books in the series & this one does not disappoint. The narrator is brilliant, she really captures the emotions. I was crying near to the end. Kyla Stone Proves Yet Again She’s One Of The Best.
I’m really hooked on this series and can’t get enough of Dakota and Logan. With each book I’m always left asking, ‘What can Kyla Stone do next; where will she take this?’ I suppose the simple answer is: anything! She sends the story one way and then takes it off on another route hitting us with nail biting tension the whole way. This time things are possibly more dire than they’ve been before. The long threatened attack by The Shepherds is finally upon our heroes and it’’l take all they’ve got to make it out alive. Kyla Stone proves yet again she’s one of the very best at writing post-apocalyptic survival stories crammed with action and tension. Into The Fire really starts to show the characters begin to grow toward each other as well as into the strange new world they find themselves in. The trials they’ve experienced together have formed a bond. Despite each of them still struggling with their own inner demons they now have each other to lean on. This is another entertaining story of tension and surviving against the odds but also one of learning to trust again and overcome those impossible odds. I say this after each book in the series but I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Stacey Glemboski, who narrates all the books in the series, is fantastic. She brings the story and the characters to life. An already wonderful book is made even more entertaining by her reading. Before you know it you’re at the end! She really helps to convey the fear and anger of Dakota and her friends as the evil of the world once again finds them. This narrator has to be up there with the very best I’ve heard. Another great story read by a great narrator, recommended.

Thrilling penultimate instalment
“Evil has a way of spreading beyond its boundaries. People think you can contain it, but you can’t. The evil in that place would’ve spilled into our lives sooner or later. It’s not your fault.” - Haasi Dakota, Logan, Julio, Park and Eden arrive at the bunker in the Everglades. As they approach the cabin, they see several bodies and come to the terrible realisation that they are too late. With the element of surprise on their side, they are able to overcome the remaining Shepherds and rescue Ezra who has been brutally tortured. Ezra is less than pleased that Dakota has revealed the location of his bunker to strangers. He softens when he sees Eden however. Dakota knows that the Prophet will seek retribution for the death of his men and that the next onslaught will possibly be led by Maddox at the helm. She sets about strengthening their defences and tries to enlist the help of their neighbours. Ezra has always been a recluse however and their neighbours are not willing to risk the lives of their loved ones. Can Dakota and her small group protect Eden from what’s to come and if so, at what price? Meanwhile Shay learns that a Category 3 hurricane has been predicted to hit Miami the following night and tries to warn the group.. Into the Fire is the fourth penultimate instalment of the Nuclear Dawn series. The book alternates between Dakota, Logan, Maddox, Shay and Eden’s point of view. Once again the author has delivered a well executed, tense and compelling instalment powered by adept character development and relentless pacing. From the offset, I was impressed by the graphically detailed scenes which made it easy to visualise the intense battle between Dakota’s group and the Shepherds. While the tension throughout the book had me anxiously turning the pages, it was the character’s that had me enthralled. Ezra was everything I was expecting and more. Several of his one on one scenes with Dakota had me weeping uncontrollably which is a testament to the author and her writing skills. We also witness the long awaited confession between Dakota and Eden as the former recounts her reasons for taking Eden from the compound. I liked how the author alternated between Dakota and Eden’s point of view as they recalled their individual viewpoints of their traumatic past. We finally learn the truth about Logan’s tortured past and his need to atone for something that he was helpless to prevent. One can’t help sympathising with him and what happened. Last but not least is Maddox. Throughout the series I have found him to be the most complex character of all and I still feel that he will be a deciding factor in how the book ends. All in all, this has been an exciting, nail biting and emotional addition to what has been an memorable series. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store in the conclusion of the next book. I received an advanced free audible copy of Into the Fire and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Stacey Glemboski has masterfully brought the characters and story to life with her clear, concise delivery which made it easy to differentiate between characters.
