About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

A Number 1
Sunday Times bestseller

Reacher had no idea where he was. No idea how he had got there. But someone must have brought him. And shackled him. And whoever had done those things was going to rue the day. That was for damn sure.

Jack Reacher wakes up, alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a makeshift bed. His right arm has suffered some major damage. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there.

The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed.

His captors assume Reacher was the driver's accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk.

A plan that will backfire spectacularly . . .

'There's only one Jack Reacher. Accept no substitutes.' MICK HERRON

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be listened to in any order, In Too Deep is the 29th book in the internationally bestselling series.

And be sure not to miss Reacher no.28, The Secret!

Standard Jack Reacher fare. Third person narrative, short sentences, lots of show, very little tell. (The brief flirtation with first person narrative several books ago, just after Andrew Child came on board, was an aberration.) The main reason I still buy Reacher novels is the narration by the estimable Jeff Harding.

Predictable. Too much of Reacher guessing what the bad guys are doing. Earlier books much better.

Predicted and formula. Not so entertaining

The voice had no real inflection and was boring at times Someone else would be better

a bit quick

The story was good but Reacher wasn't his normal ass kicking, head smashing self.
I've listened to so many audio books and although the narrators voice suits teacher he is very monotone and any characters sound the same.

Good story, but not quite the old Reacher

My overall 3 stars is not reflective of the author or the storyline of this book. I don't read/listen to Reacher books for their deep meaning, or indepth insight, they're a bit of escapism. The book was good, a typical Reacher read. Unfortunately though the narration made this an extremely hard chore to listen to, which I only persisted through to know the outcome of the story. To me the narrator was very stilted, lacking natural pitch, tone and flow.

Typical Reacher

Still getting used to Jeff Harding narration. But it’s not unbearable. Thank god Tom Cruise has stop portraying himself as Reacher.

An excellent read with the traditional twists and turns

I love the twists and turns but the monotone repetition of “ he said” drove me nuts.

Narrator monotonous but story great.
