Publisher's Summary

In a sizzling new Argeneau novel from New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands, a gorgeous mortal encounters his greatest temptation....

For almost two centuries, Ildaria Garcia has been on the run, a trouble magnet with a knack for taking down bad guys. Lately, her vigilante tendencies have drawn unwelcome attention to her fellow Immortals. Forced to relocate, Ildaria is supposed to lay low in a new town. Instead, she quickly entangles herself with six and a half feet of muscular, tattooed trouble.

Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, a.k.a. G.G., knows a lot about Immortals - enough to make him wary. Yet from the moment Ildaria walks into his club, he feels desire stronger than anything he’s known. Accepting the fact that they might be life mates is disconcerting. But when her past catches up to them, G.G. faces a choice - confront his demons at last, or lose a passion that’s hot as hell.

Immortal angel

This is a great addition to the series with Elisabeta and Ferro. She was kidnapped as a child and he is an ancient but they are lifemates and learn to adjust to their lives while fighting the potential vampire invasion of the safe compound. Love the story and the narrator.

It’s bad

This book does not make since she is 200 years old and there is no way her past could of happened that long ago.

Not my favorite

I’ve been a fan of the Argeneau books for several years now, and I’ve generally always enjoyed them. But there’s something about this one that has really let me down. First, love triangles aren’t my favorite. I’m not a fan of Bricker’s or Raffaele’s books for this reason either. Also I love GG in the other books so I was excited that he was going to get his own lifemate, but... he acted like the giant child Juan compared him to. And Ildaria or Angelina, whatever her name is, just didn’t click for me. I don’t know. As much as I’ve always enjoyed this series, I think Lynsay might be running out of things to write about.

Finally, G.G.!!

I have read all of the books in tis series. There has been some hits and misses over the years. The last two books were good so going into this I assumed that it would be good as well. Especially since it has our favorite mortal, G.G., as the main character. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. We met Ildaria a couple books back and new just very little about her. The same went with G.G. I am glad that two characters we knew little about got a book together so that it did not seem as though we were comparing the two. I loved the development of the romance for these two. I did have some issues however. One thing that I learned about Lynsay Sands's writing as of late, well with this series anyway, is that the timeline is all over the place. The pervious book was based in Port Henry, but now we are back in Toronto. This series is not flowing like it used to. It now seems to be individual books that have the same thread, Immortals. I still enjoy the series but it is not flowing like it should anymore which is disappointing.

Disappointing

It's a shame that a series this good has been tainted by so many bad narrators. This one was one of them. The narrator was boring. If she wasn't doing a character voice, she sounded like a computer generated voice. I only stuck with it because I have issues with my eyes that make reading difficult. The story itself was okay. But it lacked the usual superb writing. The heroine is 200 years old, but her childhood is described as if it happened in the last couple decades or even recently. It was painfully obvious the author didn't take the time to research the time period, place or cultures. One of the reasons I avoid Ms. Sands historical fiction. She does a much better job in present day, or perhaps I should say she struggles to make historical sound historical. There was no real build to this story. No real chase or feeling of danger. I never questioned if GG would turn or not. And the plot twist was so blatantly obvious I had seen it coming from very early in the book. It's been way over used in recent books in this series. I almost wonder if she is running out of ideas? Very little original story here. And absolutely zero tension. Along with Vampires Like It Hot, this is one of my least favorites in the series. I miss the exceptional stories we used to get. If you're a fan, then of course you dont want to miss GG's story. But read the book over the audio. This narrator just makes a weak book worse.
