About this listen

On the surface, capable teenage boys may look lazy. But dig a little deeper, writes child psychologist Adam Price in He's Not Lazy, and you'll often find conflicted boys who want to do well in middle and high school but are afraid to fail and so do not try.

This audiobook can help you become an ally with your son as he discovers greater self-confidence and accepts responsibility for his future.

Great tips for parents of teenagers. My son changed around 16-17 and I have a much better understanding why and how to navigate through.

This is just what I needed as I've already started entering some power struggles and worrying about my near 12 year old son's overwhelm and loss of enthusiasm for both school and sports at his new school, where he used to be so enthusiastic. Price offers some sound and challenging advice, especially for mums like me who care and worry too much!

I was struggling. I felt like I was losing my son. I have put quite a few of the ideas into action from this book and already I am seeing a great change in both my son and myself.

Struggled to finish it. Way too much psychology with not enough implementation of ideas and methods.

Even if you don’t think your son is lazy, this book is full of wisdom and insight. My sons are far from opt outs and I learnt as much about myself as I did about them. Love that it is evidence based and a meta analysis of the best current thinking threaded with real life examples. Highly recommend.

Just what I needed right now for my son who is 14. It is comforting to know he will reach his potential in his own time and compassion is the key
