Publisher's Summary

Handcuffs aren't just part of their job in this sizzling new standalone romance by USA Today best-selling author Stacey Kennedy.

Veteran cop Maddox Hunt is all about the job. Sure, there are women - lots of women, truth be told - but there's no one special. Until a one-night stand from his past, rookie Joss O'Neil, is assigned to his division. Suddenly, all he can think about is her. The scent of her. The taste of her.

Fresh out of field training, Joss has thrown herself into her job, determined to kick-start her career. And while police work has its thrills, her gorgeous new boss is what really gets her pulse pounding. Too bad he's nothing but a distraction. Especially since he's as devastatingly handsome as she remembers, and his sexy smile arrests her heart.

Now that Joss is back in Maddox's life, he has a plan: satisfy her fantasies and fulfill his every dark desire. Nothing is off limits. Her pleasure is the endgame...but even the best-laid plans have a way of falling apart. Despite his best attempts to keep his distance and have things remain only about the pleasure, Maddox soon finds himself breaking the only law he's set for himself. Don't fall in love.

Fun sexy romance

Stacey Kennedy strikes again with Heartbreaker:Filthy Dirty Love, Book One. The chemistry between Koss and Maddox was off the charts from the very start. I thought the story moved well and loved how their relation changed along the well. I also thought the narrstor, Gideon H. Welles did an great job.

seems to have editing issues

I was really into this book but towards the end there were some editing issues. lines were being repeated and it really threw me off to the point where I couldn't finish it. I enjoyed the narration but his female narrations could use a little work but I still enjoyed listening to him and will listen to him again.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

When you least expect it

Stacey Kennedy gifted me this audio book in a giveaway. Maddox and Joss share one hot as hell encounter, years later after police academy she works under him. Neither want a relationship but they can't fight their attraction. Stacey Kennedy delivers a story that pulls you into the minds of her characters and has you fanning yourself at the heat level. Gideon H Welles is the perfect voice for this book.

Give me more!

From the beginning, I was hooked! This book was a great mix of Story, Love, and Sex. I felt like it had just enough of each to keep me entertained and immersed. The narration was great with Gideon's wonderfully gravelly tough Cop voice. Loved it all!

Note: I received this books in exchange for my unbiased review. This did not affect my opinion of this book.

Had to return it.

Ugh! The narration is so awful! The low gravely voice sounds like he is a 60 year old 3 pack a day smoker. Couldn’t deal with it. I have no idea how the story was

entertaining

Did the story keep me engaged: yes Was I invested in the characters: reasonably What did I like about the story? good pace, interesting characters and a well written story about two damaged people trying to have a relationship. Gideon H. Welles has done a reasonable job narrating Heartbreaker. He has a deep gravelly voice that works for Maddox and has good inflections that work to bring the characters and the book to life. However, there is often little if no distinction between his male and female characters voices and at times I found myself losing track of who was speaking. It's not a big deal, just my personal preference and something that helps me become completely immersed in the audio experience. < I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review >

#bdsm #erotic #romance

I really enjoyed the man voice; so masculine and deep. I just wanted to keep on listening to him. I really enjoyed the story, too. I would even replay it gladly.

Not a Bad Listen

I listened to the Audiobook. The narration was ok. I don't know how this book may have been different had I read it instead of listened to it. There was something missing for me. Maddox and Joss initially hook up in the bathroom of a bar. First off, Yuck, but that's just me. Next thing, Jossis sitting in the back of the briefing room. She and Maddox have been avoiding each other for a while. I can understand jumping ahead a year, but where was the scene when Maddox and Joss discovered they would be working with the one night stand each of them has been thinking about for over a year? What happened to that first contact? I'm not sure If I stopped paying attention or if the scene ever actually existed in the book. So they decide to have an FWB relationship with a BDSM twist. I was surprised both of them had enough trust in one another to have that type of relationship. Especially considering that each of them had an issue or two. I guess the thing that got me the most was I didn't feel any real connection between Maddox and Joss. There was no buildup of sexual tension. I didn't get much chemistry until almost the very end, when they were in the bar with Amelia and Troy. Maybe it was because their relationship was mostly sexual. They worked together, and they never discussed the job, just the ramifications of their sexual relationship. I think I needed to read about (listen to) more of a relationship build between them. This was not a bad book. I just needed more. It will not stop me from moving forward reading about or listening to Maddox's best friend, Grey's story.
