Dr. James Marocco has served as senior pastor of Maui First Assembly of God King's Cathedral since 1980. He holds a bachelors of arts degree from Van Guard University, a master of arts from the University of Southern California in ancient history, and a master of divinity and a doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, specializing in pastoral counseling and church growth.

He is currently pastoring one church that meets in 15 different locations, throughout the Pacific Rim. He is a board member of Church Growth International. He has also authored books on spiritual warfare and church growth. As a historian, Dr. Marocco has taken a great interest in uncovering what God has done in Hawaii's past. This book is the first in a series of proposed works on Hawaii's Christian heritage.

Dr. Marocco is married to his beautiful wife Colleen and they have three children, Janelle, Joshua, and Jamie, who is married to John Werner. They also have been blessed with two grandchildren, Joy and John Leslie Werner.
