About time 😁

I’ve been waiting for this book’s arrival on audible for some time now. I rarely leave a written review of a book or book series. I have some 470 in this genre, and this series is among the top for my favorites. If you love Fantasy/Science-fiction/Blood&guts/Worldbuilding and Sex, this is your series. I highly recommend these books. I can't wait to listen to the next book.

the "hero"

he just becomes a bigger ass then the supposed evils he fights, at some point near soon I'd rather cheer for the enemy than our "hero". his excuses for doing horrible things are so thin at this point, that I wonder why people around him even follows him at this point.

Fun!

Great story and narration!

The crew is back, and things are hotter than ever! Gryff finds out that he is part god, and able to harm the Seven. He needs to close the gate to cut the Hoard off from reinforcements from other worlds, and deal with the hostilities of the gods. can Humanity (and friends) survive?

Daniel and Rebecca continue to do an outstanding job with the narration of this series!

I loved this audio book, and can't wait to find out what happens next!

Shitty ending!!! Returning books.

Not a fan of all the inner monologue of the mc aka (thinking in his head). The other issue I have is the area you end all of your books. I will be returning all the books because I'm tired of all your books ending on non endings and cliff hangers. people should come back to serial stories because they are fun, engaging or what ever words you want to use, not because they want to get past the cliffhanger or in this case SPOILERS ALLERT!!!! find out if the mc returns to the world of vern or if the author killed off the mc.

TLDR- too much inner monologue, every book has a shitty ending location and killed off mc possibly but not sure because of shitty ending spot.

good listen

this book has lots of characters and lots of world building. i found it easy to listen to but I couldnt name all his wives for nothing. the mc is not a goody goody and I found dialogue and character interaction cool. I would recommend giving it a listen.

Gryff really becomes an ASS in this book.

There is Being a Leader.

There is Wielding Authority.

There is Showing Strength.

There is being a complete and utter ASS. Gryff has totally come off as an ASS in this book. I'm not sure if this is just poor writing on the author's part, poor direction on the editor's or what not. The sad thing is that there is no one that seems to be able to stop him, not even his wives as he puts Amber in her place when he doesn't like what she did as he saw it as circumventing him.

Marcus Sloss also doesn't seem to understand the concept of time. Gryff somehow get a shit ton done in just 10 days in this book, the time from when he purchased the 40 million humans to their arrival.. I truly don't think the author sat down and figured out the amount of time everything would have taken and then translated it into the writing.

We then have the 40 million humans. Have makes create housing for 40 million, sure, magic÷catalyst seems to allow for this. Run them through a snaking corridor, sure, however I don't think he truly understands how many people that actually is nor the amount of space required to hold them. The largest stadium in the world has an official capacity of 150,00 people, with actual capacity around 114,000. That is 267 stadiums of that size at max capacity.

Marcus Sloss doesn't take logistics into account, as most everything seems to happen in this farming village turned capital and now has a human slave population more than 4 times the size of New York City. Yet Gryff just builds a new temple to the gods without consideration to what might already be in that location, add 3 stories to a restaurant without a care for those working inside.

There is just a point where you can no longer suspend your disbelief. I'll see if it gets better in the next book, but I won't hold my breath.

I really like the concept of the story and some of the mechanics of the world, but right now it is really hard to enjoy the book with so little thought going into details that need to be there. I have hope that the micro management will also end as that was mentioned, but you still see it too much after that point.
