Publisher's Summary

'Light or dark, only one can win. This world cannot survive in shades of grey.'

Now that Aven Dalmarta sits upon the throne of Meya, Alex must race against the clock to save the rest of Medora from the Rebel Prince’s wrath.

Haunted by an unspeakable vision of the future, Alex and her friends set out to warn the mortal races. But making allies out of ancient enemies proves difficult.

With her nights spent deep in the Library under the guidance of a mysterious new mentor, Alex is desperate to strengthen her gift and keep all those she loves safe. Because in a world where nothing is certain, she is sure of only one thing: Aven is coming.

Emotionally exhausted

I don’t usually leave reviews but Lynette Noni captured my attention with Whisper & Weapon. I enjoyed them so much I started the Medoran chronicles. I’ve almost knocked the 6 books over in a week! Very addictive. I’m completely invested in all the characters and am rushing off now to listen to book #5.

The narrator had me so emotional with this book, I was actually crying.

Amazing

This book was amazing and utterly heartbreaking at the same time. I found myself laugh and cry hard for the characters. More than I'd like to admit. The narrator went all in and it just destroys your soul when she is upset. It's like you are right there with the characters.

Absolutely love this series. One of my faves so far.

I am still crying:(

Literally, I feel like I have a hole in my heart. one that I never could have imagined could possibly happen from fictional characters in a book. yet I feel it all the same. I almost wish I would have never read in the first place, almost.

Great series!

I am really enjoying this series! I love the characters and by this third book I am fully invested. Carly Robins does an amazing job with narrations. Dare I say I got emotional at one point from the anguish she exhibited with her narration. I highly recommend this series. I can’t wait to read the next book!

continuing adventure

this author does a nice job drawing the reader through joy and pain without overstating the emotions until the reader wants to put down the book and go find something else less overdone. in this book, the author dealt with some pivotal points in the story like war and racial biases, subjects that can turn away a reader with an eye roll or a shiver depending on how the author writes. this skillful author manages to draw the reader in to even these challenging topics and the story flows on. I'm not a fan of extreme highs and lows in books, there are too many in the reality of life so I seek escape into a milder reality in books. because of this, this author did well to leave what was covered in this book until now that the reader knows the characters like friends. worth reading this series in order. the narrator does a nice job of bringing me back to the emotions and opinions of a child on the edge of adulthood.

Graevale

this author is amazing! I can't wait to listen to more and more and more ! she describes the characters and the scenes so realistically that you feel like you're watching a movie, I found myself holding my breath and nearly crying when something tragic happened. I still think this should be made into a movie.

Unfortunately, the story has lost its way

This has been a good series until now. However, the only way to enjoy this book, is to completely disregard the character's age.
It is unbelievable tho accept that a 16 yr old could have the maturity to converse in such ways with senior figures, to understand adult complexities and handle herself in the way she does in many of the situations she finds herself in. Yet she still acts with immaturity when it comes to anyone being attracted to her. By the end of the story (a few months later) she is suddenly almost 18. Her actions/interractions speak more like she is nearer 30.

Also frustrating is the interaction between her and the males close to her. It comes across as if she is having blossoming relationships with at least three of them when she isn't. It was very misleading and inconsistent.

If you can suspend belief whilst listening, it makes it a much better listen. I will continue with the series, though the story is getting rather protracted, but in my mind Alexandra is somewhere in her twenties with an extremely naive attitude to dealing with men.
