Publisher's Summary

The girl had been staring into her mirror all morning before she picked up the small bottle of sulphuric acid and poured it over her forehead. Samira was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. What could have brought her to this?

DC Jerry Pardoe and DS Jamila Patel of Tooting Police suspect it's suicide. But then a meek husband kills his wife, and the headteacher of the local school throws her pupils out of a window. It's no longer a random outbreak of horrific crimes. It's a deadly virus. And it's spreading. Somehow, ordinary Londoners are being infected with an insatiable lust to murder. All of the killers were wearing secondhand clothes.

Could these garments be possessed by some supernatural force?

The death count is multiplying. Now Jerry and Jamila must defeat the ghost virus before they are all infected....

Truly ridiculous

I can only describe this as an audible version of a ‘video nasty’. The violence is extreme, graphic and continuous so unless you have a very strong stomach, I wouldn’t bother. The idea behind the story is good but the reality really is ridiculous and the solution obvious very early on. I would imagine that any self respecting Met officer or SAS operative who listens to this story will be seething with rage and incredulity at how thick the author has portrayed them; if they bother to listen that long. I wish I hadn’t.

Maybe it’s me.....

What on earth made me listen to this
The characters are one dimensional stereotypes and that’s the best thing about the book in general.
Spoiler alert.....clothes can be cut up and burnt

Ludicrous but thoroughly enjoyable horror

Typical Graham Masterton, take a myth and spin a yarn about it (no pun intended).

This book starts with a most horrifying scene which almost turned me off the book entirely, far too graphic and not really necesssary to the story but it IS a horror story after all, and I'm very happy that I carried on listening, it's a ridiculous tale of posessed clothing. Laughable? Perhaps, but hugely entertaining to listen to, thanks in part to Mark Meadows whose narration brings the possesed clothings rampage to life perfectly (again, no pun intended).

I'd say that if you enjoy dark humour and don't mind gore, then this would be perfect for you, but if you are not so keen on gore, then best to avoid this one, it's gory, silly, but very gory.
