Publisher's Summary

Discover an alternate history to the human race as the authors of Forbidden Archeology challenge one of the most fundamental components of the modern scientific world view. Michael Cremo and Richard Thompson discuss the work of researchers who, over the past 2 centuries, have found bones and artifacts showing that people like ourselves existed on earth millions of years ago. They explain how the scientific establishment has ignored these remarkable facts because they contradict the dominant views of human origins and antiquity.

Doesn’t match the book

After 1 min in it no longer follows the book text instead reciting from it sounds like another part of the book which I haven’t found yet

disapointing

I have to admit, I was expecting more from this than I gained.
but in fairness this was groundbreaking presumably when it was written with some discoveries now proven or disproved.
I am sure there is a lot more hidden archeology still waiting to be revealed that is currently buried in some vaults deemed too hot to handle

great information but need another narrator

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No

What other book might you compare Forbidden Archeology to and why?

anything from Michael Cremo or Steve Quayle.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

great book great information but the Narration will put you to sleep. have to force yourself to pay attention. This is a great book.

Any additional comments?

This book deserves a narrator with a more teaching way of speaking. sounds like she's reading to herself.

Good information read poorly.

Would you be willing to try another one of Laura Lee’s performances?

NOT ON YOUR LIFE.

Any additional comments?

This woman needs to read bedtime stories and nothing but bedtime stories.

Doesn't Cover the Whole Book

While this was an excellent, but clipped, reading of Cremo's Forbidden Archaeology, it was, sadly, severely truncated from the 900 plus pages in the hard copy. If you want to get a better idea of what the book says, read the book. This audio clip leaves a LOT to be desired.

Forbidden Archeology

The information in this book is explosive to the standard archeological understanding. When you read this you will be ashamed of the coverup that science has put over on us for over a hundred years. After listening to the book I am now going to purchase the hard copy. What every your view about evolutionary theory you owe it to yourself to get this. Some of the information I had heard before but chapter after chapter gave me new facts to explore. I have listened to it now several times. It is great. I hope Audible will offer Cremo's new book on the impact of the 1998 publication in the scientific community.

Interesting

This book makes some interesting points but it would be better if you had the written version so you could check the sources. There are a lot of sources. It reminds us of a lesson that all sciences should pay attention to. Don't get locked into a particular interpretation of the facts. Leave room for further discoveries. Seems obvious but apparently it still happens all the time. And not just in archeology.
The audio quality is not as good as other audible books. I have to adjust the speakers in my vehicle to hear the woman's voice over road noise. And as other reviewers have noted she does a poor job of reading. She sounds like a spokesperson for a large bank. She must be getting paid by the hour, she seems to be in a hurry to get through it.
Audio is disconcerting but the information is still worth it.

Narrator's voice was monotone

The narrating sounded very robot like and made it difficult to focus on the story. It also states that it is 2Hrs 30min long but when it started it showed 1hr48 min on my mp3 player.

Poor Audio Quality

It was interesting info presented, but the narration was low volume, dry, and hard to listen to.

Real Science

This is a great book that challenges the establishment and the politics of science. Science has always been handicapped by the overbearing personalities trying to keep their theories alive for personal gain. This book is not only a good source of information but an interesting point of view on the politics of science. It’s good to keep this perspective in mind when debating current hot topic science/political issues like Global warming and Evolution.

Extremely interesting subject falls flat

What would have made Forbidden Archeology better?

A more lively narrator would have helped keep me from falling asleep. The information and subject matter is compelling enough that I'd recommend this book to anyone, but the delivery was dry and the narration did little to improve that fact. I'd have enjoyed hearing more of the authors voice in the writing. Instead this was just a compilation of facts that reads like a dry book report.

What could Michael A. Cremo and Richard L. Thompson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The writing could have been more narrative in style, offering more of the authors' voice. The book meanders almost aimlessly from one anecdote to another. The story line of this book reads like a slow walk on the open salt flats. A real snore.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator did very little to enliven the already flat read. It was all I could do to pay attention through the monotony.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The subject matter is extremely engaging and compelling. Had it been written by a truly talented author it would have been one of the most exciting books I've read.

Any additional comments?

I'd like my money back.

Well researched and written

What did you like most about Forbidden Archeology?

The research was in depth. For anyone interested in out of place objects and the idea that humans have been on this Earth a whole lot longer than current academia wishes to accept. Then this is a book for the library

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Please all I ask is that you re do this book using someone who does not sound bored stupid by the contents and has no interest in the subject, probably didn't even understand it. Then it I would buy it again ...seriously

Any additional comments?

A really interesting book, I suggest getting a hard copy and reading it until they do another performance...It is unfair to the author to have someone perform it so badly

Fascinating.

An engrossing book, so much so I had to give it another go. Most certainly recommended.

Excellent information

Awful 1970’s computer voice. But luckily it’s not that long, you can bare it for the new information.

Abridged

I'm sure this is a abridged version. the audio is low quality with a constant hiss in the background.
I was very much looking forward to this book. but I found it disappointing on various fronts.

Oldie but goodie

After listening to a lot of Graham Hancock I knew I had to check this book out. It's full of little gems and side stories about the individuals who have come unstuck in trying to go against the mainstream.

The audio quality isn't great, it does sound like you're listening to an old vinyl record, I recommend listening to the sample first to see if you can handle it (it's only a short book anyway). I found it easier on the ear if I listened to it on speaker rather than through earphones, the natural background noise blurring into the white noise / hiss on the audiobook.

I hope an update to this book is produced (and re-recorded at better audio quality) soon, given the interest off the back of people like Hancock.

Interesting subject matter if a little brief.

I find this subject very interesting, and sadly I have found precious few books that take the subject seriously. This book was a good attempt though many of the examples used were from a long time ago and therefore not easy to verify. It was also quite brief and I am sure there are far more cases that could have been included.
My biggest bugbear with this audiobook however was the quality of the recording. I had to have it on full volume to hear it, and then there was a lot of white background noise. The quality of the recording made it sound like it was recorded in the 1960’s on an old cassette machine. A real shame.
