Publisher's Summary
The best days of your life might be still to come....
When 73-year-old Jen announces that she is going to marry Eddie, a man she met just a few months previously on a beach on Boxing Day, her four best friends from aqua aerobics are flabbergasted.
The wedding is booked and, when the groom decides to have a stag trip to Las Vegas, the ladies arrange a hen party to beat all others - a week in the city of love, Paris.
From misadventures at the Louvre and outrageous Parisian cabarets to drinking champagne with a dashing millionaire at the casino, Paris lives up to all their hopes and dreams. But a week can change everything, and the women that come home have very different dreams from the ones who got on the plane just days ago.
Funny, fearless and with a joie de vivre that reminds you to live every day like it’s your last. Judy Leigh has once again written the perfect feel-good novel for all fans of Cathy Hopkins, Dawn French and Fiona Gibson.

Just a delight
As I listened to this book I couldn't keep the smile off my face with the occasional spontaneous giggle. The antics of 5 70yr old women seems like a boring topic but it most certainly was not.
Great narration and believable character driven story.

A lot of fun
5 different women meet at aqua aerobics and become great friends. Then they go to Paris and that’s when they discover who they really are and what they want in life. This is an enjoyable book- light, ‘holiday’ reading that made me smile a lot. It’s not a comedy, but it’s warm-hearted and sweet.

Engaging and Different Tale of Five Mature Ladies
This is a great tale about five senior women who met at aqua aerobics and became fast friends. Each very different personalities, with a different take on life, marriage and growing older. This is a different genre for me. But I, too, am one of these "older women", and I can safely say that I appreciate this kind of story, depicting the challenges and feelings that women nearing or in their seventies go through. Many of these hurdles are not pretty. But they are the reality that we live in today. One reviewer noted that the book was crude . . . but I don't think so. I'm a Christian . . . but I'm also a realist. I wouldn't do the things these ladies did together . . . go to nightclubs, etc. But they didn't do anything terrible, didn't sleep around. And the book is not filled with trashy scenes or foul language. I will definitely listen to more from this author. The bonds that the five "hens" formed grew stronger and the women learned much about themselves, as well. The changes in society over the last fifty years, since most of us women said "I do" are numerous. Even though we took our vows in the 1970s when things were starting to change, most of us ended up doing it ALL, not being equal to men. We wore ourselves completely out. It does my soul good to listen to books about friendships between women. By the way, I am a happily married woman of 50 years, but I've had plenty of hurdles. 😉

This is the second book I’ve listened to of hers…..and I’m going to listen to them all. It’s wonderful to read great stories about women (and men) in my age group. FANTASTIC!

Fun for older chicks aka hens
This is my second book I read by this author. It's great to see the world through the perspective of these older women characters. Since I'm in my sixties, I prefer these stories to those about girls much younger. Lots of humor as well as insight. Great character development.
The narration is excellent.

Crude story of several friends adventures.
I did not like the crudeness of the story, but did enjoy the performance. I wasn't expecting a Christian story, but I also was not expecting how base it would be. So it was okay story with good narration, but I probably won't listen to any more by this author.

Please research diverse characters or don't bother
I found both the writing and the performance of the Jamacian characters in this book INSULATING. It was clear that both the writer or the narrator has met maybe one Jamaican for a 10 min conversation. All the non British accents were bad, but the Jamacian one was insulting. It was like that time Marco White made Jamacian Rice and peas with grean garden peas and chicken in one pot lol. One pot Chicken and rice is mentioned in relation to the Jamacian couple in the story, which all people that have spent any time with Jamaicans know, is not a thing.

Amusing, feel good story
Being a fan of the narrator, Annie Aldington, this book made a pleasant change to her usual narratives of gangland London. A tale of five recently acquainted ladies on a journey of group and self discovery to Paris. A pleasant, amusing, feel good story.
