Story
'Time poor' is the catch-cry of our era, and yet end-of-life retirement means we have an average of two decades of feeling time rich to look forward to...when we're old. How arse-about is that? But there is an alternative to working your butt off for decades and retiring when you're worn out: it's called financial independence, and it means being able to cover life's essentials and afford the luxuries you want without having to turn up to a job each day.

But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Still, Together is an exploration of the ways we feel detachment from our lives, goals and friendships, and how we can begin to reclaim ourselves through human connection. Technology has enabled us to be more connected than ever before, but in many ways, it has come at the cost of our sense of humanity. The reality is that we live in a world where innovation promises to keep us more up-to-date and connected but leaves us feeling more disconnected than ever before.

Publisher's Summary
Financial Autonomy by financial planning expert Paul Benson is about money. But unlike most money books, it's not focused on making you the richest person in your street, or worse, the richest person in the cemetery. Instead, the focus of this audiobook is on gaining choice.
Divided into parts dedicated to cash flow, investing in stocks, investing in property and self-employment and side hustles, the audiobook starts with the listener—you! What are your goals and aspirations? What does financial autonomy mean to you? Then, the author shows you how to make a plan and follow it with the ultimate destination being the freedom to choose the lifestyle you desire.
Critic Reviews
"A clear, sensible, and straightforward guide to take control of your money and put you on the path to financial independence." (Stephen Miles, investment editor, SMH and The Age)
"Paul outlines three distinct but possibly overlapping strategies to build wealth and freedom. Or choice. Or independence." (Nick Lope, The Side Hustle Show)
"I would highly recommend Financial Autonomy to anyone looking to explore their options, in regaining control over their financial life." (Kate Campbell, How to Money)

Straight talking, no jargon, easy to follow.
Paul has done a great job here stepping through the basics and explaining everything very well. This is not for advanced finance wizards but its a simplified pathway for normal folks to follow and easily understand. I found it very good and well put together.
