I honestly didn’t think there would ever be a HEA!

** Detailed review - Contains spoilers **

Just like the first book, this one has lots of triggers. It’s dark & wild. Although Keiren stops being so forceful with Lake he’s still pretty rough & controlling for majority of the book. There’s mention of rape, child slavery & inappropriate situations regarding children. We see way deeper into Keiren’s past life in this book and gives us a lot more meaning into the way he treats Lake.

I really struggled with the push & pull in this book. I couldn’t keep up. One was constantly pulling while the other was pushing. One minute Kieren was thinking about how much he wanted Lake forever and wanted to keep her from hurt, the next minute he’s pushing her away and wants to torment her. And I just couldn’t understand why Lake was working so hard to put Keiren in jail when she loved him and was still giving in to him. Talk about whiplash! There was so much back & forth in this book that I kind of got over it & just wanted them both to cut the bullshit and admit what they really wanted.

The turning point was the Valentine’s Day/Keiren’s birthday date night. I love sweet Keiren even though he’s still got rough edges lol. And then when they met up at the park and he finally declares his love!

I think I really needed Kieren’s POV to get over all the horrible shit he did. Like the day he pushed her off the monkey bars. It was a twist of stopping her from putting herself in danger but punishing her for not doing as she was told because that’s all he knew. Knowing he regretted it instantly and regretted all the hurt he’d caused her from the 10 years of torment definitely helped ease my disdain for Keiren. Hearing him vow to spend the rest of his life making up for everything he did definitely helped as well.

I really struggled to like Keiren through out the first 2 books but I certainly couldn’t help but love him and feel sorry for him at the same time. He was so tortured from his past and was trying so hard to do the right thing especially with Lake but he was also afraid of her and the feelings she made him feel. He definitely had to learn how to love Lake.

There was lots of plot twists and random connections that pulled everything together which was cool to read! The book kept me interested and wanting to know more but at the same time I was just super ready to get to the happily ever after part after hours of constant push & pull.

The narrators were awesome! Teddy is my all time fav male narrator. He was perfect for Keiren.

Pretty good!

Teddy will always get 5 stars for performances! Ava was great too. the story itself was okay though it did stretch and was just so full of angst. But I enjoyed it(:

AMAZING!

I loved this! This is definitely as amazing as the first book and something I would definitely recommend reading after the first book. Halfway through this book I was hesitant as to whether I would be reading the third book in this series but with this book finished, I am definitely tempted to read Keenan and Sheldon's story. This one coming is definitely one where I am hesitant to see what Sheldon will do and whether she will continue to love him like she used to or if she will stand her ground and stick to her believing in herself and her own worth in life. The romance between Keiran and Lake does become complete in this book, as much as it can be, but the rest of the series continues the timeline and so it will be interesting to see what the final book is like with those two and how they have sustained their relationship. I would definitely recommend this book and the series so far. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do!

Just as bad as the first book…

Ok so I’m a person who always gives authors second chances.. not every book can be mind blowing & sometimes they take time to evolve their stories as they learn to create depth to their words. Not this author, not this book. Unfortunately as with the first book it could’ve been something great. It could’ve encompassed more by using less repetition & the terrible overuse of twists. The characters lack everything… the storyline lacks by so much overuse of plot twists that none of it really ties together, even though yes it finishes each characters need for revenge. This series reads like a bad daytime soap opera & I just can’t recommend it. However as per my first review for book 1 of the series, the narration is great, as one would naturally expect from Teddy & Ava.
