About this listen

Australian and New Zealand edition

Can’t sleep? Who better to deliver the recipe for a peaceful night based on groundbreaking sleep science than the best-selling author of The Fast 800, The Clever Guts Diet and The eight-week Blood Sugar Diet.

Getting a good night's sleep can improve your mood, cut your risk of depression, help you fight chronic disease, keep you slim and even improve your memory; so why is it that so many of us don't prioritise the necessary seven to eight hours a night?

In Fast Asleep, Dr. Michael Mosley brings together the latest science to explain exactly what happens to us when we sleep and why it is so important that we get enough of it. Prone to insomnia, he has taken part in numerous sleep experiments and tested every sleep remedy going. He explains why so many of us struggle with sleep, what works and what doesn't and shares his own myth-busting programme to help you achieve a good night's rest.

Along with fascinating case studies, 50 delicious, sleep-promoting recipes and menu plans by his wife Dr. Clare Bailey, this book explains why gut health and meal times matter, explores the science of dreaming and reveals tips and tricks to help you not just to sleep better but to reduce stress levels and feel happier and healthier in general.

This audiobook edition of Fast Asleep includes a downloadable PDF, packed with sleep-promoting recipes and menu plans, sleep diary and exercise programme - all the tools you need to sleep better, reduce stress levels and feel happier and healthier.

Micheal is like the kindly doctor reading advice. He’s pragmatic, motivating, and full of common sense. I love that he reads his own books. It’s just like watching his programs.
I’ve re listened to it a few times and will many more as I let all the science and advice sink in.
I highly recommend this book and any thing else by Micheal ❤️

As all Dr. Mosley's books are not too heavy listening. as always, the program he gives at the end is certainly something you (I will) can implement relatively easy

Another informative book by Mosley!

Michael Mosley has done a great job of conveying interesting facts about sleep and of delivering useful methods to improve sleep. Lots of 'lightbulb moments. I am looking forward to trying out the sleep improvement methods for myself.

Insightful and educational.

Enjoyed this book, it was informative and got a lot of points about sleep patterns. Using a Cpac machine has allowed me to get some good sleeping habits but always up for suggestions

This book really had me intrigued as sleep has been a challenge for me. The concepts had some merit, though this did not really complete the process for getting better sleep. Disappointed.

Not what I was expecting
